Was it 1/3 teaspoon of himalayan salt you recommended for an isotonic in water?

for just water (and greens) add 1/4 salt.

Isotonic: 1 part orange juice + 2 parts water + 1/4 tsp salt (as good as if not better than Lucozade Sport and cheaper)

Salt in all water you're talking about?

Yeah, I add some into each of the 2 litre drinking bottles we use; that's the only water we drink so it's always got some salt in it. For workouts, pre, during & post, then the salt dose can be increased slightly.

Cool.

I shall start doing that as of tomorrow. I think a big problem is that I'm doing a lot of manual labour now as well and don't fully appreciate how much water I lose compared to sitting in an office. Then 90mins weights and cardio or rugby and this takes it's toll.

I was always tempted to buy some but never got around to it as using the himalayan salt on my steak got rid of my cramps before.

I'd like to see something like this added as well.

why on earth would you want chlorine in you?

The salts I've recommended before are natural and just as cheap.. and imo better.

No but it won't be absobed due to it not being bound to methionine. As long as they are amino acid chealated I'd go for.

Zinc and Magnesium should be chelates. Basically the type of zinc or mag ends in "ate", e.g. for magnesium: fumerate, citrate, glycinate etc.

If the ZMA is good quality then it should be ok. I quite like having varying the types in the same supp. The mag supp I use has 4 different types in it; the zinc one as 2 types.

Chlorine is needed by the body, but I wouldn't choose to take it as a supp. It'll be in all tap water and some foods. So the daily amount that our body needs, which afaik is rather small indeed, doesn't need to be "bulked" up with 320mg per serving of that product.

lolz

just seen "MPs" replies. Makes sense. Quite confusing though isn't it.

Having said all that, sodium chloride is nasty stuff anyway, so yet again I would not want to take this. Plain old table salt is 99% sodium chloride and that is not very good for you at all*.

imo it's best to use nature's electrolytes

* the latest research shows that it's the lack of potassium or rather the huge imbalance between sodium & potassium that messes people up esp with regards to high blood pressure. So although MPs product has potassium, yet again I see no point in having the sodium chloride. I think that potassium chloride is better.

This is why I used those salts instead of just table salt, though yes there's still a big imbalance. I just didn't know of a better source... will give those a go!

Typical I just bought 100g of that stuff a few weeks ago lol!
