Post workout carbs

Few things im enjoying right now

Pancakes with Nutella. Asda estra special hazelnut spread is also pretty good
Pancakes with jam

honey nut corn flakes

twirl and a wispa (garage sells two bars of chocolate for 80p)

Chocolate eclairs

Theres a few good ones. Gets you your pwo sugars in easy peasy

These always rock.

Apple Crumble or Choccy Fudge Cake with Clotted Cream does it for me or Scones with Jam and Clotted Cream. Millionaires Shortbread is another.

The choccy whey porridge works ok if we're trying to be good.

Ultimate carb fest is homemade chocolate malt though:

1 litre clotted cream ice cream
1 box malteasers
1 bottle frijj chocolate milkshake

Chuck the lot in a blender and drink. Surprising how little liquid that large amount actually makes.

I forgot to add

A tub of squeezy caramel is great

You can use it for clean ish carbs with a wee scoosh of that on top using rice cakes with banana butterd on top and a little caramel....or you can whack soem of it on top of pancakes

Also goes not too shabby on shortbread or digestives

Im good at this sh!t :lol: No wonder im up 35lb probably in 4 weeks

I've used potato starch/flour for a while and found it ok. Better than WMS as it's corn based and not good imo. It's also sooo cheap

I use brown rice flour & even quinoa flour but both a little bit heavy.

I actually just prefer rice milk now as it helps improve the taste of unflavoured proteins (esp plant based ones).

Personally I don't really bother, maybe BSD's Glycoactive during workout. Otherwise it's simply from solid food later on which could be oats, giant couscous, rice or pearl barley.

Haribo or jelly babies are good for a mouthfull of something sweet and sugary with not much else in them. Wine gums if you are Bison

Why would he need better cardio conditioning to last more than 2 minutes when the "workout" only lasts for 1 to completion? ;-)

Oh, and my very advanced "sports nutrition" post workout carb up: double chocolate chip cookie. Nice.

Washed down with an oats and whey protein shake.

Haven't had PWO carbs for a while. I find not having them makes fat loss crazy fast and doesn't really hamper performance as long as you don't let glyco hit rock bottom. Introducing them again for a few months and having a bowl of oats and whey, with berries and raisins. Exciting no?

I no longer use any carb powders of any form. I just add rice milk. 200ml is 20g which is fine imo.

How do you's feel the lower pwo sugars ties in witht he pre workout sugars/simple carbs iirc quite a few of you go for?

I'm currently having chocolate filled pankcakes as PWO carbs. As others have said, I could probably go without them and not cause any problems or gain any less, but I'm enjoying them lol

I don't do PWO Carbs as such but will with a meal around 1 hours after which tends to be porridge in water with a little honey at the moment.

Same, brown rice is usually my vice when I eat after training. Although when time is tight it is handy to have some ultra fine oats in the shake.

I have also found that there is no real need for carbs immediately after, all my best strength gains (without gaining body fat%) have come from pre workout carbs and variable carb cycling.

I used to do rice out of habit but think oats are a slightly better source for this time, same at in the morning really. Just have my body feels with them. I don't go with Pre Workout Carbs either just rice with chicken again around 90 mins before hand if it's a work day or 90 mins after breakfast on a non work day when I training earlier.

I may consume a small amount during workout but we're only talking 10g WMS so nothing major.
