If someone did Unequipped competitions what and where would they go and what kind of totals do you need?

I believe the BWLA are an unequipped association.

Why are Chavs like slinkies? They have no real use but it's great to watch one fall down a flight of stairs.

Plers are breaking off from BWLA next year and have a new association the Great Britain Powerlifting Federation http://www.gbpf.org.uk - No idea if it's true, but I was told they may be dropping unequipped competitions!

The other one is The British Drug Free Powerlifting Association http://www.bdfpa.co.uk/ - Probably better for unequipped

No idea - Possibly due to the fact most people lift equipped, so possibly as simple as not enough support - Sad if true.

You can compete unequipped in any fed. However your totals may not be registered as unequipped, they may just be mixed in with the other totals.

From memory you would need ~650kg raw total @ U100kg to get to the brits in one of the drug free/drug tested feds.

I didn't know there was ever any big money in BWLA competitions. It would be pretty gay if GBPF dropped unequipped comps. They're a great stepping stone for people new to PL'ing, who very often want to compete unequipped against other people who are unequipped. Dropping it will only hurt the sport by making it less inclusive IMO.

It would be a shame if they dropped unequipped, I agree - I just heard it was being discussed - I hope it doesn't happen :)

Is there ever big money in any powerlifting comps? I'd assumed it was something people did purely for the love- I'm sure the likes of Andy Bolton do all right off TV appearances etc., but I can't see anyone else stumping up the Benjamins to offer a big prize pot.
