Plers are breaking off from BWLA next year and have a new association the Great Britain Powerlifting Federation http://www.gbpf.org.uk - No idea if it's true, but I was told they may be dropping unequipped competitions!Resurrected wrote:I believe the BWLA are an unequipped association.

No idea - Possibly due to the fact most people lift equipped, so possibly as simple as not enough support - Sad if true.kp1512 wrote:why drop unequipped - surely thats the true measure of strength?

I didn't know there was ever any big money in BWLA competitions. It would be pretty gay if GBPF dropped unequipped comps. They're a great stepping stone for people new to PL'ing, who very often want to compete unequipped against other people who are unequipped. Dropping it will only hurt the sport by making it less inclusive IMO.
