UKBFF play dirty

Postby Gym-pig on Sun Jan 02, 2011 12:41 am

Took this from a quote by Vicky Mcgann on the BNBF forum .

Seems really dirty to me and utterly pointless !

"We have been in talks with the people at The Body Power Expo about featuring natural bodybuilding through the BNBF. We had discussed BNBF athletes doing guest spots etc and they were quite enthusiastic. I pointed out last year there was no natural representation so they were keen to include us. We have however had feedback from Micheal Thomas from Bodypower today to say that the UKBFF have stated that no way could the BNBF be involved at the event. This is very restrictive and stops us being able to promote the natural side of the sport the UKBFF dont seem to want people to know that there actually is a natural choice should they want to take it.

This is sad as it would have been a good opportunity to showcase the BNBF and its athletes. If you are going to this UKBFF controlled event please wear your BNBF clothing and promote the BNBF at every opportunity. Thanks"

What were the reasons given? I would find that hard to believe mate? Are you sure egos and personality aren't involved? It would be potentially suicide for a promoter to say this on the basis of the athletes being natural.......

Im tempted to email and ask about this as a UKBFF member

Some strange things happen....im technicaly not aloud to do NABBA shows and im DEFO not aloud to do the NABBA Brits then also do the UKBFF Brits wihin the same year. The UKBFF wouldnt let me on stage

The reasons are because they spend a lot of money on athletes...promoting, sponsoring and sending a team to the Arnold and other stuff eery year so they have to obviously make the same rules across the board....which is rely to ensure that they keep the loyalty of the big gunz im sure

This doesnt seem so obvious as to a logical reason

Rabiola - agree and you can see why that would be the case. They do invest in promotion so if someone then goes to another show that is a little off.

But a show like this where you get consumers from all walks of life - not allowing Natural BB's? Sounds odd.

There has to be another reason , if there was one at all.

Maybe they are thinking along the following. Having a "natural" section would immediately classify the ukbff athletes as non natural bringing down rep of the fed to the wider public .. basically condoning steroid use.
Pb's: Bench:140*10 - DL 260*2 - Squat to // 232.5*3

But doesn't anyone with an ounce of sense know that already so how could it damage their rep?

Yeah within the body building community. I'd say they are thinking that as body power is a very public and very large event it may do a lot of damage to non tested shows perceptions..

Maybe they are worried that promoting a natty event will highlight that in the main most UKBFF members aren't natty?

It seems odd logic though... don't get it.

Bodypower = Muscletalk = Sloth from the goonies = UKBFF promoter. Pretty fcking obvious why they don't want another fed involved ;)

Cleaver - Totally incorrect and a load of bollox.
Pioneer Events run this and MT are assisting in promoting like any other company.

There is some suggestion that they are threatened by the BNBF and " the other way" being shown .
Either way I think its stupid and a joint promotion of BB should be allowed

It's really simple...

To have a Natural BB Class would highlight the fact that their competitors are using AAS in an environment where this is still very socially unaccepted to the point where pretty much all IBFF Pro's keep their usage hush hush. You then got to look and see how much of a hand the major Supplement companies have in all this in terms of sponsorship as if it were made very obvious that virtually all competitors use AAS to achieve their physiques, say by having a seperate Natural BB Class, then the Supplement companies could lose out big time.

Who gives a fuck about pioneer events  I seem to recall certain companies not getting involved in the first event because of certain facial expression challenged individuals. Maybe I have this wrong....
