lol, vindication for kps diet!!!

A lot of the newish science on diet stuff over the last few years seems to be suggesting that the biggest determinants of fat storage/ability to burn are calorie control and genetics... certain macro combinations/ratios do have a small metabolism altering effect that are universal, but genetics and calories seem more and more likely to be the biggest factors. Even the health implications of junky foods seem to be primarily determined by genetics.

do it for a year and see if he can still walk! lol

calories in vs calories out from a poor nutritional source only works for as long as the body's current resources can buffer all the nasties and acids. Still, interesting that he was crazy enough to do it.

buffering acids? WHat you on about? junkines survive for decades shuffling around from one bag of smack to another on little other than a wham bar and the odd packet of space raiders

I know they do. But they don't last long, when you consider we live to 80ish. The body is an amazing thing that does all it can to survive.

on the surviving/thriving point. Lets be clear here...Id rather die at 54 than thrive if it ment drinking greens, hemp and considerign a bit of fish as a rare treat

Wait until you have children. And, maybe if you're still here, grandchildren. Your might want to live a bit longer then.

Ill live longer than you I recon. Im just too chilled out :) Plus still have a more healthy lifestyle than most shmuks that live into their 70's despite apparently dying from he inside out from acid erosion and other multiple fantasy aliments conjured up by the vegetarian propaganda Al Quaed

What is the average mortality of a battered pie eating scotsman... 22 years? I bet Rab is already the oldest man living in Scotland

I really think that at least making some effort to eat healthily is a good idea, not so much for how it effects you right now but as you get older. If you've minimised levels of oxidative stress, inflammation and unnecessary acidosis etc through healthy eating whilst younger, the benefits should transfer to a much healthier experience when older.

Bad diet is kinda like how smoking effects lung capacity I often think... when young with a reduced lung capacity from smoking you don't notice anything because you still have a perfectly adequate capacity overall, but when older it catches up. Same principal with unhealthy diets and also extreme macro nutrient unbalanced diets.

However, I also think that if you are healthy with the framework of your diet there is room for a little junky food without much problem... a healthy body can process a bit of junk perfectly fine.
