Taking the plunge

Postby Will on Sat Mar 15, 2008 1:46 am

Right you'll have to excuse the horrid sight that is me - I know I'm a hairy **** but I don't tend to get rid of my back/shoulder hair until I go on to the beach - so you're just going to have to be grossed out by them :p

Thanks for the comment guys - I may well be related to Rilla - was he born in the jungle too?

The shots are about 4 months apart no more than that. It's brilliant that you guys think it's good progress, I'm always my own worse critic and never feel I am progressing so this is a brilliant motivator thanks guys. :)

I do have some shorts on, they're just hiked down a bit for the pictures! ;)

Yes I don't take any dodgy juices, I just rely on good ol' protein shakes and a good diet - though I eat a lot at the moment! lol! :D

As for stats, the last time I weighed myself I was about 96kg (with hair :p), I'm just under 6'1", I don't know what my bodyfat is but I'm quite happy that it's at a decent percentage.

I measured myself a couple of weeks ago:
chest: 45.2
Bicep flexed: 16.9
waist: 35
neck: 18
wrist: 7.5
thigs: 25.9
calfs: 15.9

Can't think of anything else...

I'll see if I can sort out some leg shots at some time - they're caning at the moment after a big squat/leg day

Looking good dude, especially great Back & Bicep development but then these usually come hand in hand.

Also good to see low BF for a big fella.

thats some big arms when you consider your bf %. calfs and legs could do with an extra inch (on paper) to match the guns and chest size

allot of work has went into that physique

Im well impressed with the standard of physique in this place. thats another son of a bitch thats bigger than me. im going back to MP

Yeah I need to work a bit more on legs, I don't neglect them, they just seem to need more work to get any decent gains on them.

Surprisingly I don't tend to do that much isolation work with my arms - I guess they get hit with other exercises, I mean I still do some arm work but I'm not religious with it

I'm glad I've managed to keep my bf so low - I have no idea what it is though, but your comments has helped re-enforce that I do have decent low bf% which is brilliant. I am quite strict on what I eat, I seldom drink these days either , however, no crisps, snacks or that sort of stuff, chocolate I still eat a bit from time to time, but the pure 70% stuff not all the usual stuff, I don't drink fizzy drinks (coke etc...), drink plenty of water and eat lots of fruit, veg, I have a fish dish at least 2/3 times a week, lots of chicken and red meats. It's so easy to give in to naughty food - and I admit that occasionally I do. It just shows what a bit of dedication can bring - and a positive mind set can do. Comments like the ones here are just what motivates me to go and carry on. :)

You look quite mesomorphic in those pics...wouldn't have guessed you were 6ft 1....some good genetics there.

Arms look particularly impressive. Nice work freefaller...you cut a fine silhouette too.

Cheers fellas - yeah the body hair adds about 10kg I reckon! :P I'm sitting a little heavier now at 96kg - but I don't think any of that will be lean mass - I probably just need a dump! lol!

A lot of people have labeled me as mesomorphic and I think I'd agree with that - lucky genetics, though the body hair is an unfortunate side effect of being me :P

How tall would you have given me Orinoco? I think my height adds a lot to my weight and aesthetics - pictures can hide/show a lot I reckon.

Since those pics I haven't changed much, bar gaining some strength (200kg DLs, 170Kg Squats, 130Kg BB Bench - my weakest compound exercise).

Under 6ft I would have said. Usually you can get a hint of someone's height if they're over 6ft ish from limb length, proportions etc but like I say, it's not exactly scientific. Being mesomorphic and over 6ft is a great combination. I'd imagine the pics don't do you justice to how you look in real life. Whereas someone like myself, with more ectomorphic proportions....I tend to look bigger in pictures and nothing more than athletic in clothes.

I always use to say around 1 inch of height equates to 1/2 stone of body weight for someone that is at a reasonable level of training and muscle mass.
