Hi Stani and wlecome.

No, I don't think you're too old for training. There are a few old coffin dodgers on here that are pushing through their 40's and onwards that still train hard and heavy, some of then are even stonger now than in their 20's.

Could be many reasons for your issue; diet changes, not enough rest and recovery, over training, phsychological etc.

Hi mate, welcome to the forum.

Definately not on the age thing, i trained seriously in my early 20s, did 10 years of no training at all once i got married and travelled, then got back into thing about a year or so ago and at 35 im a stronger than ive ever been. Fat is harder to shift, but thats mainly down to me not being strict with diet.

Things are a little tougher as you get a bit older, you have to work harder and work smarter.. but at 27 i dont think youre even at that point yet :)

Howdy!

I seriously doubt you are over the hill yet. If your squat is going backwards I'd reckon your technique is not quite right. It's very easy to allow your technique to go slightly. Do you have a sensible training partner watching you squat?

27 to old. Come on mate if Simon M can bench 140kg you can squat. It just takes longer than you think to get back in the game

I only have one comment to this, and it's something Rab said to me quite some time ago. Go to the gym and "Show the muscles who's the boss".
On a more serious note - I got back into training some two to threeyears ago at 26ish, I'm still increasing my weights (albeit slowly now that my training frequency is downto twice a week tops).
Punish the iron. :)
Oh and welcome.

Hey Stani, no 27 is not too old!
I got back into lifting at 25 almost 26 and you definitely can improve with age. I know guys in their 50s who are way stronger than those in their 20s. Definitely a good move to get back into it. :D

Hey Stani! Welcome.

If I thought I only had 3 years of training left before I was over it I'd be pretty depressed. Man up!! :D
