It's true that Powerlifting squatting is a minimal movement, but that's the rules they're adhering to; why go lower? And it is a sport; a very specific one. There's not going to be that many people that could even hold that weight on their back, let lone hit regulation depth.
Which is why Karlos is right in that the deadlift is the only purist lift of the lot; pick up that weight in one movement until your legs are straight. Simples.
