Forgot to mention my stats: Age 20, Height: 6'' Weight 92kg, Status, Natural

You can tell you're off season at the moment. But that's a good thing, that you can do what it takes to get shredded up for the events. Some questions. How much do you hope to gain this time total? Where is your natural soft spot ie. where do you feel you naturally gain fat? What tricks have you got for hanging on to strentgh while cutting back?

I'd say you really need to concentrate on incline press and incline flyes as your upper chest is almost non existent and lay off all other chest exercises.

Also, do more hammer curls to build a more fuller arm.

Good stuff though.

I'd also agree with the Chest comments as you look a little "trappy" and "coat hangery". I would view this as a negative comment though as this simply means you already have good natural width, which is hard to come by. A fuller Chest would complete the overall package.

It's amazing how much less defined you can look in an off season.

It's crossed my mind to do a competition before, but I'm not happy enough with my physique right now. Maybe I'll do the over 35s in a few years lol

Yeh, ive gained some fat with the rebound but also alot of muscle id say, My strength has gone up so much and ive been breaking pbs constantly these past few weeks.

My natural spot where i add fat has to definatly be my stomache, thats the main area where i add then, then it'll have to be legs.

Hanging on to strength while cutting back? Well dont drop your carbs TOO low.. TOO quick... and training heavy while cutting is still good because you get to preserve alot more muscle, but yeh It is amazing how much condtiion you have on stage when you've, got hardly any water, and fat, + being carbed up so look full.

Tbh im pretty happy with how im looking at the mo, as iVE never been this big this lean... But being a natural bodybuilder i think its easyier to add fat, as it would if u were assisted, due to lower test levels, etc.

But i know i can get shredded, so im not worrying about fat right now, just dont wanna add 2 much fat right now.. still look fairly lean, and dont think i look like alot of the people who bulk, who havent got hardly any definition at all.

Yes, i am doing alot of incline press, to build my upper chest, im not sure why its not growing for me, i do ALOT of incline chest... i think its just 1 of them muscle groups.. however its no exscuse and has improoved ALOT more than before...

I also do alot of hammer curls, But with being pretty tall i find its harder to fill my frame as i have more of a frame to fill out.

I dont think im doing anything wrong at all at the moment, just i need more time to improove on my weakneses, But yeh this year should be intresting.

Sensible approach to bulking, as in not going OTT. Many guys simple look like fat lumps off season and I have no doubt that the impact that must have on imparing the CV System would have an overall negative effect on training, not to mention a longer diet period and training on calorie deficiency. For a bulk you're looking in pretty good shape.

Do you maintain any CV work off season?

With regards to your Chest, as much as I hate to use genetics as an excuse, it's probably down to genetics and your general build. An old training partner was very similar in that he had amazing Shoulder and Tricep development but just couldn't put much mass on his Chest even though he didn't lack strength or effort. You may find that Chest development comes with age although why this is, I don't know.

Yeh i agree, i wanna look like a bodybuilder bulking.. not a fat lump like you said, i wanna try to limit the fat i gain off-season. Yeh your definatly right, it cant be good for training and the CV system.

And hell yeh i definatly do cardio in the off-season, its a MUST!, it helps so much with weighs and for being a fairly big guy its still pretty important to be farily fit, for the size. I think it can be dangerous of years bulking without doing cardio etc, you need to look after your heart also! + like you said it helps so much with training... especialy sqauts haha we all know that 1!

I do cardio about 3 times a week, but thats NOT including at my college as at my college i get to do alot of pratical stuff... and fitness tests and we do alot of cardio sometimes when we do different sports, so that helps me also.

Also i was thinking of doing boxing just ONCE a week..., just to get that cv system really going!, im not sure if it would affect my bulk as i would just replace the calories lost, But mainly wanna do it for the metabolism raising effect, as its definatly important to have a good metabolism, whilst bulking and eating all that food.

I bulked last year and i remained fairly lean, and i looked SOO much bigger when i dieted down..., and it was ALOT easyier too..

Also if i find im adding to much fat, i may 1-2 more cv session in, and drop my carbs a bit, and i think that should do the trick.

Ask for chest yeh... i HATE to use genetics as an exscuse... here is my chest routine:

My chest has IMPROOVED soo much (overall), but my upper chest hasnt.. really improoved a great deal :S
Im not sure to that reason the ONLY thing i can think of is does my shoulders/triceps take much of the stimulation?... Could i counteracle this by pre-exhausting some muscle groups before?

Monday: Heavy chest, Low volume HIT
Thursday: Medium weight chest, High Volume, Low-medium intensity.

Have you got your ful current routine anywhere/ Would be good to see it and then maybe work from that to maybe make tweaks or at least give some thoughts for you to either take on or discard based on what you feel?

A couple of tips I find work for Upper Chest which you may already use.

For Upper Chest I found Incline Fly's really work well but taken to full stretch and stopping at the top with DB's around 2 feet apart so as to maintain tension rather than bringing them together. For angle I use between 15 and 30 Degree's.

Scott (Health4NI) also swears by Unrolling Fly's which I think is a Poliquin Movement and he could certainly explain them better than I.

For Incline Press maintaining tension again is important as well as full ROM. To remove Triceps away from the press, go as low as possible and press up in a verticle line as opposed to up and and in so DB's start to meet at the top. By keeping a verticle line you'll maintain tension on upper Chest while maintaining the width of the press should keep Triceps out of the movement as much as is possible. I go quite steep on my pressses, as much as 45 Degree's and no lower than 30.

Thanks for the tips about working the upper chest a bit more.

Yeh i live in Staffordshire, And nah i aint dabbled with AAS, BNBF is kool its still an descision to make, is to continue in the ukbff or go to the BNBF, And i havent got any money to dabble with AAS haha, besides i wouldnt of before anyway cuz i think im too young. And training + nutrition should be spot on and should be training at least 4 years natural first which i have... But yeh i havent really made my mind up yet to what road i wanna take... but its not an overnight descision, as i LOVE bodybuilding, i wanna live it to tis FULL potential... im still pretty young... still got some more natural progression left in me.

Scott, yeh i just wanna add more size OVERALL atmo tbh, but yeh definatly to my weak areas also...
