Sleds

Postby health4ni on Sat Aug 02, 2008 10:51 pm

I want to get my father-in-law to make me one. But I obviously need some good pics and ideally some kind of dimensions etc.

Also any first-hand experience to give tips on how to make it better would be great.

So, if anyone can help me out that would be just magic :D

nice one cleaver, it looks nice.

I also must up piccys of the two pieces of equipment that he has made for me so far. An adjustable heel raise for squats, and a 6" platform for platform deadlifts. The heel raise is AMAZING. He doesn't do things by half!

That design would be dead easy to knock together Cleaver. Only thing is how do you pull it along? What would you use and how?

Probably adapt a dipping belt with a longer chain and maybe a second chain and clip for making it tighter around the waist.

Genius Alex. A back to front dipping belt with another piece of chain and clip.

Rope to the caribiner, 10-12 feet long. Then to your dip belt. Wear it with the belt around your stomach tight enough to keep it in place. The clip on the dip belt can go through the link on the chain required to make it tight enough as well as the end link. The resulting loop of chain can then be used for attaching the rope.

Hardcore blokes would just tie the rope around their waist and take the burn.

EDIT: i see alex has posted the short version of this!

often sled pulling is done facing the sled with back to the direction you go. Not always of course but that I'd say is the main one. You hold them via a specific attachment "rope" with handles.

Apparently Dave Tate's Elite Fitness one is very good.

The Prowler looks immense too.
