Scoop weights?

Postby Benny on Sun Jan 17, 2010 8:02 pm

In relation to my previous thread I need to find a way of measuring out 2 grams of Leucine.

I've got a 5cc scoop and some cheap cooking scales which read in incriments of 20grams.

I'm sure I've heard of a chart somewhere which has totals for how much 'X' cc's of 'X' powder weighs but can't seem to find it.

In the event that 2 grams is over 1 5cc scoop I can just scoop in 20 grams worth and then divide it by the amount of scoops to work out how much each scoop contains. However I don't think my scales are going to be accurate/sensitive enough for the job.

In the event it's less than 1 5cc scoop I'm a bit stuffed and will have to purchase some mini scales like the ones they sell on MP.

Does anybody happen to know how many 5cc scoops equals 2 grams of Leucine? Or where this chart can be found as I'm sure alot of people could benefit from it!

Thank in advance,

Benny

Varies between supplements as density/mass will vary. I think 2g Leucine is around 1 5cc Scoop but your best bet would be digi scales. Best deals are on ebay and I've found Diablo ones are decent enough and well priced.

the BSD red scoops would give 1g per one scoop for Leucine roughly

Thanks for the replies. Is there anywhere on the highstreet where I'd likely be able to pick up digital scales accurate to 0.1 or 0.01 grams? Only place I can think of is Boots?

Do you know how many cc a red scoop from BSD is? I'm not sure if they include scoops when they ship out powders?

BSD ones should be 5cc as well. Just measured in at 1.75g for a scoop.

Maplins have a small range it seems. Will pop in tomorrow. Seeing as I have to walk past the library to get there I'll pay my fines too

I'll let people know my findings :)

Edit: So a lightly heaped 5cc scoop should be around 2 grams of Leucine?

I need to grab some scales anyway to weigh/measure for when I cap my EAA's.
