Roadz' General Training/Diet Gist Log

Postby roadz on Fri Nov 27, 2009 3:34 pm

Never had any sort of journal/log before so will start one up...

Having had swine flu and going from around 11st 7lbs to 10st 7lbs in about 6 days, I thought it was a good time to try and turn things around. I never really too much about all the hype surrounding swine flu, but it was one fucker of an illness.

I won't be logging every workout/meal or any thing like that. I will be updating just generally about how my workout and diet is going and how I'm progressing. Obviously my initial goal is to gain some mass and bulk up. I will be starting a (not yet decided) split routine on Monday and I had my first session for 2 weeks today. It was full body and I was epically weak, as expected.

In terms of diet, I will just try to eat a decent amount of clean calories and add/takeout foods according to how quickly/slowly I progress and gain weight.

Any advice is welcome.

Take it slowly. Make sure you are fully recovered before blasting it. A couple of weeks doing easy full body work while you get back in the swing might be beneficial in the long run.

Don't list to Cleaver and KP - They're Gaylords and so are you for being ill!

Suck it up and train hard and you'll never be ill again.

I do feel like a bit of a bitch when I get ill... Saying that though, I'm very rarely ill. I gonna go balls to the wall and will hopefully be posting up some good progress.

Best cure for being ill is a DL PB. :)

Deadlift PB... LOL

To give you an idea of how much energy I had... A typical says food was two slices of toast and a few spoons of rice, which I would later go on to throw up :D

Gonna try and be as honest as possible with this log...

The weekend hasn't been great, in terms of nutrition. I managed to consume a decent amount of cals, but they weren't the cleanest. Went out with some family yesterday - full rack of ribs, chips and some ice cream. I'm gonna try and clean up the diet during the week and hopefully have a few decent workouts.

Woke up today with DOMS galore!

Changed my mind and will be stocking to a 3x full-body workouts per week. Yesterday was a pretty terrible workout in terms of weight moved but it was good to get back in the gym. Hopefully my strength and bodyweight will creep back up over the next few weeks.

Diet and training is now on it's way back to being more consistent. I'm not going crazy on trying to eat as clean as possible, as I'm not too bothered about gaining a little fat and my aim for the moment is to gain some mass. Deadlift today... Nothing impressive, 100kg x 5 for 3 sets. DL is probably my weakest lift and is some thing I want to address.

Training and diet pretty much went out the window over xmas and new year. Not to say I have been eating complete shit, just that I haven't been in a daily routine. I'm back to uni on Monday and things will normalise (is it a word?) then!
