I wuldnt shine it on a positive light, id be sure to keep it very neutral.
Most important point right there.
Although 90% or all of us here are pretty well clued up on the use and psychology behind it and we realise that it's use is not cheating or toying with our lives as we make well informed decisions, research and understanding of the subject.
Because this is such a passionate subject that ignorant people like to lambast unfairly (they just assume, gym=roids=syringes=leads to other things=violence=fake=etc... it's an ever going negative link). However you can't sit and praise it as it does have repercussions in society, and in sport too. There are pros and cons to most things in life depending on how objective you can be.
Steroids have a huge amount of negative vibes, so don't try and convince people, but if you give them the opportunity to see that whilst they're pre-conceptions may be right, there is another side.
For example you can delve into why they were developed into the first place (i.e. for medical reasons). You can delve into the psychology of their uses for non medical reasons.
Ask and state why the negative connotations exist (i.e. abuse, ignorance, glamourisation, health impact, fake drugs etc...). State and ask why the positive aspects are ignored (prevent muscle wasting in cancer patients, curing certain diseases in early stages, then obviously, reduction in fatigue in sports people, improved protein synthesis, enhanced growth and strength, can be use in synergy with the body rather than separately).
It's vital that you remain unbiased though.
I don't know enough about the ins and outs of the use of them, but I know enough about their perception, and the myths and facts to know how I feel about them.
