How wide is your stance when going below parallel? I've stopped doing that now as I can't stop my lower back curling under at the bottom of the movement.

Rab, as this is in your neck of the woods i'd thought i'd show it to you, assuming you haven't seen it already. Providing the date is ok i think ill be down there to show some of the big guys up ;)
Getting a bit of interest atm and looks like a good comp for novices which is what has drawn me to it and its free entry. Take a look.

From the Same guys who brought you Scotland's Strongest Team and Scotland's Strongest Man Under 105kg

we bring you the Winter record breakers challenge

dont you just hate that shit 4 or 5 months during the winter when you have no comps and all you got to look forward to is the qualifier in feb
well stop cause now you dont

cause the Winter Record Breakers Challenge is here!!!!!!

whats that you say "what is the winter record breaker challenge"
well i am glad you asked

its a max weight comp where actual Scottish records can be set in stone and broke time and time again over the years

it is a max weight comp but anyone can do it
think of it as not a comp against other guys but against your own personal bests

records will be set at under 105kg and open
and awards will be given to best open, best under 105kg and best "pound for pound" athlete
so no matter what weight or your level you can participate in the

WINTER RECORD BREAKERS CHALLENGE

Date late Nov (sunday) TBC
venue DAWC
g82 4bg
entry will be free

events are as follows

1 Max log IFSA spec
opening weight 50k and higher
3 lifts

2 Max silver dollar deadlift
opening weight 180k

let the records fall
remember its about breaking your own bests not about the other guys
