Pycnogenol : Pine Bark Extract

Postby health4ni on Thu Jan 26, 2012 9:47 am

Anyone got some info on it? Det?

Here's mine so far:

It seems to be a very powerful anti-oxidant (high oligomeric proanthocyanidins [OPCs]), anti-acid, and an anti-inflammatory specifically useful in joint, muscle and connective tissue issues. It also appears to be good at recycling ascorbyl and tocopheryl radicals, namely vit C & E. One study showed that produced a decrease in oxidized glutathione and a highly significant increase in glutathione levels.

Dosage? I'm thinking 50mg-100mg a day, spread 2-3 servings. Or is slightly more better? Up to maybe 400mg?

Any good sources? purebulk.com looks good.

Been using pine bark extract and grape seed extract in powder form from purebulk for about 6 months now. The main reason is that they appear to have positive results with joint based issues (my synovial cyst on my left knee and right knee tendon/ligament tweak back in Jan). Plus very good anti-oxidants and anti-acids.
