Out Of Date Supps?

Postby Shicky on Mon Apr 06, 2009 11:44 pm

How strict do you need to be on this? I assumed most companies would go by an overly safe date as to not get in trouble, so most have an extra 3-6months in them if not longer?

In my awesome ways to hold off using most supplements till 'established' in training I seem to have held off for so long some are out of date! Was basically super dosing them till my ankle got messed up but was going to continue this again until I vomit out my ass and am pretty sure they're having a negative effect as i hate wasting money

Or am I being retarded and theres very real health problems that could come of this?

Note this doesnt refer to BSD supps, infact none of it is, wouldnt let that quality stuff go to waste ;)

Try them and if you die, you'll have your answer!

All joking apart, you should be fine if they've been stored in a cool dark place

It depends on what it is. If it's oil based (fish oil, lecithin (PC), GLA etc) then it'll likely start to go rancid. Although some companies make better products than others that will last longer.

Nah nothing fat based.

Using creapure, bcaa's, alcar, leucine, maybe tyrosine soon - these being out of date. Going to toss the rest of my WMS, i really dont feel this made any differences for me and as I need to cut theres no point in it.

Only thing i've noticed is BCAA's seems a little gritty, is this normal? Its similarity to sambuca does me no favours when im close to boking after a workout.

Cheers for the prompt replies

Yeah, WMS is pants imo. I do wonder how much actually gets absorbed. Vitargo is easily the best. And if you use it only PWO then it will last a while (as most people don't need more than 40g of it).
