Rear Delts Questionos

Postby upright on Thu Mar 06, 2008 9:05 pm

Does anybody favour a rear delts Row over a rear delts lateral raise? I Fcuking hate those rear lat raises - I think cos I have flexibiliy issues with it... Just discovered this Rear Delt row and like the look of it, anybody done these with any success?

I do lots of machine rows and these hit my rear delts very well as like you the bent overs feel wrong.

I only really do light raises on delts day.I find my rear delts get pretty fried from back workout the day before.

I really get on well with bentover laterals. You can also do them straight arm with arms close to your sides, so you end up in the top position similar to the top of kickbacks. Probably didn't explain that well! Is IMO a crap variation anyway but is worth a try...

I use an incline bench for my rear delt rows.

Lie face down, grab the dumbbells, and row keeping your elbows out as wide as possible.

something like this;

They're an absolute little b@stard of an exercise - I think you're right though - time will improve this. When I start HST I'll be looking for results and I think I'd get better from the rows rather than the raises although if I don't feel the effort I'll force the struggle with the raises.

Shame I don't have a machine... I don't struggle on the BOR though and am very happy with my form on those. It's those rear delts although I was doing them today AFTER working out my BOR and Side Lat 5,10,15 RM so I may have had some fatigue setting in - my form was hilarious to be honest - back raising gull winged - a total mess but was a bit better with a much lower weight. Maybe I'll give them another go on Saturday I'd like to be able to switch the 2 between A+B workouts.

I'll see if I can find that var...
