The more I read the more it seems a clean break would have actually been better for me, if there isn't significant improvement surgery is required which means another 12week layoff afterward. Apart from training im starting to worry about the impact on work, no way will I be able to write quick enough for exams etc. But i've had enough of being a miserable bastard and i've decided this is the perfect time to figure out why im getting lower back pain when I run. I can currently avoid the pain by cracking my lower back to pieces but this could impact lower back stability which is important for deads etc so im a little stuck...

Going to try a leg day on thursday to see how I get on. Im also thinking that I could get away with working my back fairly easily. With this splint thing off my fingers function fine but I have been told to not be a tool with the weights but then again I am an idiot so we shall see. Im literally busting to train at the moment, this was the perfect time to get a good blast into second semester and keep on from there, funny just how much you hate the idea of not being able to train balls to the wall for weeks, so if you have the ability and arent doing it, start doing it, or im breaking your thumb

I'm sure you'll be able to get more time in the exams with a doctor's note. Probably a computer to type it up on or even someone to dictate to if needed.

Good on you for pulling yourself out of the doldrums Shicky. Like you say, try and look at other areas of your fitness while you are stuck.

Yes, unfortunately for you, a break (unless really serious and/or heals wrong) is usually easier to heal than this sort of injury....
