Awesome Osteopath visit.

Postby Marks1972 on Wed Feb 27, 2008 9:01 pm

Had my first visit to an osteopath today, I know my posture isnt great as and as i close in a 200k squats and 250k deads, i want to make sure theres no problems there.

She was brilliant, she's worked with oly lifters, BB'ers and PLers before and even went off and came back with an olympic bar so she could look at my technique. Was balanced, giving good health advice but also knowing the ins and outs of powerlifting so knew that it was pointless telling me to bench with feet up etc (but i should train with feet up where possible).

Best of all, she manipulated my spine, got me breathing right.. and i saw my abs! i couldnt believe it. Ive been working under the assumption that im high 20s BF due to my gut, but she has shown my the that pot belly is largely due to my spine curving inwards and pushing my gut out. She reckoned im high teens/low 20s so still carrying a lot of bf (obviously) but not nearly as much as i thought.

She was pretty hot as well :)

Best £35 ive ever spent... cept for that one time in Amsterdam when i was 23.

hehe i was thinking that, i was lying on the bench thing that goes up and down and she was manipulating my quads and hips while i was just in my pants :D ... was a close call but thinking about Vanessa Felts did the trick :D

One thing that did suprise me is she says my pecs are way overbalanced from my lats and thats the reason im getting arm pain from benching. Im all chest with very little back so im tearing the insertion i think she called it which is causing pains in my arms.
I thought my back was far stronger than my chest.

I think this is probably quite common... have certainly heard it before.

So she's a hottie eh? Next time you go slip a twelve inch banana down your pants... that'll put a smile on her face :D

This is common

Look around any gym and you'll see shoulders curving forwards from too much chest and too little back work
