What I find amusing in this saga is teh fact that initially there was like 2 complaints about bad language about that broadcast. Now everyone seems to be jumping on and complaining about it just because it's fashionable.

Like him/hate him what ever just wished that people in the UK stopped being such damn pus***s and stop complaining for the sake of complaining about things like porn or sex or what ever. Guess they wont be happy until everyone are mindless drones cocooned into a world where everyone are exactly the same and you aren't allowed to do jack shit.

I hear what ya saying - but what he and ross did was catergorically out of order - and if I was running the BBC theyd be fired as it would be the right thing to do. But that wont happen

Yes what they did was wrong, but since this was a recorded show the real blame should be on the person(s) who actually decided to broadcast it without editing those bits out or stop it all together.

This whole thing is just farce from the start to what's going on now.

Only good thing is that there is a lot of pictures of the grand daughter and she is quite an hottie :D

I don't think you can blame anyone but Brand and Ross on this. The fact it was broadcast is irrelevent. The fact is they have left lewd messages on a grand parent's phone about a much loved grandchild. This is clearly unacceptable and behaviour which is actually criminal.

When I used to insure the BBC and Channel 4 the respective legal teams were very hot on libel and it was always up to the producer to run things by the legal dept. In this case, nothing has been done so the producer will be sacked and Brand & Ross will get a slap on the wrist as the BBC have to be seen to do something.

What will be interesting is if Sacks complains to the Police, if so, the only question will be what sort of fine etc., they both get.

I hate how this has become a political issue, with Cameron using it to make a dig at the BBC who he doesn't like much at the moment, and then Brown jumping on it too. It's got fkall to do with national politics, and there're much more important things going on in the world.

Let's get real here - some cock and his mate phoned the Grandfather of a Girl he did shag and told him so. FFS is that really a political issue - I'm not even sure it's a legal issue. Although it does go to show how more sensitive some of the "big guns" on this forum actually are than they come across...

Guilty of being a cock and that is it. And if poor little Georgina is one of the 30 odd birds a week Russell is puting it to (dressed as girl who's been through a hedge) then more fool her, and (assuming she's a sort) good on him.

Personally, I'd kick his arse all over if he did that to my little princess - grand daughters? I hope to not be around long enough to be making a generational cock of myself by sticking my neck out for a girl who is probably a little slapper who probably powders her nose moe often than she should - which is pure speculation on my part but hardly great steps of the imagination...

If you were running the BBC we would all be watching 1960's black & white repeats as you'd never get round to giving the nod to new programmes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think sleeping with Russell Brand shows a great lack of judgement on her part (what is it with women who like skinny ugly men who are as macho as a 10week old kitten? :? ) and more fool her for not thinking he would keep stumm about it.

What pissed me off was the total lack of respect shown to her grandfather, what they did was cruel, malicious and purile. Wankers the pair of them, although Johnathon Ross apologised talentless tit Russell has not.

Brand has ben the victim of some 6 billion or so kiss n tells - girls usually shag him just to tell everyone esle... Apparently that's the look that screams I'm gonna rag you all over the house and then hold you till dawn... I love Fawlty Towers, Basil and that Continental Cretin pushed the boundaries of acceptable racism right out

Brand's resigned from Radio 2 show, if anyone cares. I couldn't help getting it shoved down my neck on the way home. :P

Gramps sounds like a pretty sound bloke tbh, has accepted their apology, and is being pretty thick-skinned about it all.
It's only the media, the public, and the daughter who're kicking up a fuss. :P

I thought it was pretty funny. Not hilarious or clever, but pretty amusing lowbrow stuff.

Of course I can see how it was offensive but compared to some pranks I've heard (mostly from American radio) it was tame. One thing's for sure - it's been blown out of proportion spectacularly. Gordon Brown commented on it FFS.

Indeed. I wonder how many of the 20,000 and counting complaints are from people who actually heard the prank on the radio...

it's all bollocks if you ask me. Get over it. I've heard worse stuff on the radio before by Moyles.

2 people complained on Saturday night at 10pm... then it got out on the news and the stupid twat UK public decide to complain in droves. Why? Cos they can.

There's been much worse on BBC before... and much worse will still be broadcast that's for sure.

To be fair, the worst bit is probably including info about shagging his grand-daughter (which he did though!); so for that it's worth an apology for sure.

But as others have said, they might have instigated, wrote and "deployed" it, but some BBC head-honcho still allowed it. They should be suspended, not these two.

Get over it UK people

Its not really to do with the fact of the complaints but the way they went about broadcasting.
They rang Sachs over 8 times repeatedly, this could be classed as harassment and when Sachs denied the right to broadcast the phone calls they did it anyway.
Just blatant disregard for peoples rights really.
