Postby Marks1972 on Mon Sep 22, 2008 10:17 am

Firstly, is it strong tasting, id love a coconuty taste to my stir frys, but can you do eggs, steak etc in it or does it taste funny?

Secondly how long would 460g (BSD size) last using it a 2-3 times a day.

for cooking steak, you can use 1/2 as much coconut oil as you would butter. Its much better for cooking with (doesnt bubble and go all shitty like butter) and doesnt leave any taste.

I'm very keen to watch KP "heap" a liquid.

As with anything it tastes different. Like swapping cooking oil for olive oil, makes things taste different... cooking with coconut oil doesn't make things taste of coconut though... just different. Better imho. ;)

I always like to have a scoop of coconut oil with fish oils and a protein shake, good stuff :)

I've got a bottle of macademia nut oil that I've been meaning to try out. Was 2/3 off as presumably no bugger wanted to buy it. ;)

I have some of that. Tis good stuff. Another excellent oil to cook with; perhaps second only to coconut oil. Doesn't taste that strong either.
