I think most of the articles over at t-nation are overhyped with regards results to some extent... Doesn't hurt to try suck it and see. You can eliminate stuff then and gives you a change.

Everything with him is either self promotion or IMHO littered with BS in order to self promote.

IMHO :D :D

Fair comment... he's not a character that elicits an ambivalent response. He's the marmite of strength coaches.

Did Clusters on Flat BB press today. Was quite impressed. Plan was 5*5 at 3RM with 15sec pauses, 3 mins rest.

Outcome:

set 1 -5
set 2 -5
set 3 -4 + 1(30s rest)
set 4 dropped weight 5k -5
set 5 maintained at 5

Reckon I could gotta the last 2 sets with a few forced reps with a spotter but don't have one, was pleased with the result though because it was a nice session best as I usually go 5*5 for this lift in the same time(give or take a couple mins) but lifted considerably more. Subsequent lifts were maintained or bettered and overall session time not affected.

Will definately be doing these again, probably not an every week thing, probably try to get a few sets at that weight nxt week and work on improvement and then go again at a higher weight in 4/5 weeks.

This is a dumb question, but I haven't got a clue.

With cluster sets, say on DB bench for the 10sec pause do you put the weight down? On squat would you simply stand with the weight on your back or rack it?

Yes it's a stupid question but I am feeling stupid today.
