If you have been on low carbs for an extended period of time you will find that you will be sensitive to carbs but no more than say 2-5 days of regular eating.

Going low carb for a while will increase your insulin sensitivity as you won't have to pump out as much insulin for the glucose to pass into muscles etc, but as Kp says when your glycogen is depleted and your body hasn't had carbs for a while when you do eat them everything is magnified. Glucose pulls a shit load of water into your muscles, so you may have been dehydrated? and Tryptophan is released in bucket loads (makes you tired/relaxed).

Drink more water with added salts and maybe don't eat as much sugar if you don't want to fall asleep. :)

Thing is i aint even carb depleted or at least not badly as im having 300g ish per day of carbs...

I just seem very sensitive and if i have a big carby meal i feel pumped and full very quickly too.

Is this a good thing or a bad thing in terms of blood sugar stability?

hmm good thing mate - if you are sensitive to insulin it can make alot of things easier. Also dont forget - higher volume training also increases insuline sensitivity

is a good thing if you pump up fast as it strongly suggests high sensitivity.

All you have to do to maintain good general sensitivity to insulin is to eat no more carbohydrate than you hold as glycogen... combined muscle and liver stores of glycogen in a musclular guy can be well above 500g, and if doing a lot of anerobic exercise you can easily burn 300g of glycogen a day... so eating this much carbs won't cause your liver to kick out too many triglycerides which are the things that begin the process of reducing insulin sensitivity.

Believe. It or not, I react in pretty much the. Same way, I either have a big carb meal or something overtly sugary and you can pretty much guarantee I will be asleep within 20minsm
I find it to be quite dangerous :-) I nearly glassed myself in. Majorca recently, just had. A cake or something or another and then. Was supping on a pint of san miguel, fell asleep and did the subconscious. Dramaic neck snap wake up. Thing, and nearly potted myself
