Apart from CLA which I've not yet used, and D3 which i really want to use, is all the supp's I consider beneficial for wellbeing too particularly in times of stress or if diet isn't great.

I also like glutamine, NAC and phosphatidyl serine too.

IIRC it can have oestrogenic effects too.

GTE is the one I'm not that fussed about and stuck it on at the end.

You need 366mg of epigallocatechin-3-gallate (EGCG) per day. This combined with cardio can increase fat oxidation by 17% in trained athletes.

IIRC 30% of the polyphenols are catechins of which 50% are ECGC.

so 15% of 315 is 47.25mg polyphenols

30% of 47.25 is 14.175mg catechins

and 50% of 14.175 is 7.0875mg ECGC per cap.

Might be wrong though :?

That would mean a lot of caps of 15% polyphenol strength to get the 360mg ECGC required. Of course there's the ECG, EGC and EC which is active too, so a lesser dose might well be still effective. Still it seems a good case for paying more for a higher strength extract.

I know that Con over on UKM swears by drinking 2-3 liters of strongly brewed green tea (20 or so bags of tea brewed then allowed to infuse over night I think) when cutting... I wonder what catechin bioavailability and strength just from brewed green tea is?

One thing I do remember about GTE is an interesting little study that concluded it's important not to buy GTE with the caffiene removed. Apparently in the study when the caff was extracted but the supp was taken with an amount of caffiene equal to that which was removed, the fat burning effect was less than compared to taking to GTE with non extracted caffiene content. This suggests a synergy between the individual ingredients within GTE itself.

Great minds think alike.

Not one I'm using, just elements of, but will put them all together fairly soon.

You could add RR, Resveratrol and CQ10 to this but where do you stop...

I'd have 3g or 4g Vit C a day in there too, not a sexy supplement and so simple I think it often gets overlooked, but it's crucial for so many bodily functions and defo one of the best at warding off viruses.
