I know money is a bit of a crass subject to discuss, so forgive me. Furthermore, this is not written with the intent to belittle or pick apart what people can afford to spend, I'm just curious, as I know we have family people and couples on here, but also people that live by themselves or independently (myself included). I try and buy carefully but I also like to buy good quality but inevitably the better the food I buy the higher the cost seems to be - which is understandable, but also quite vexing.
At the moment for myself alone I spend around £70 on average per week. This is a mixture of Sainsbury's and Waitrose, though I get more bang for my buck from Sainsbury's. My local butcher has closed down and there aren't any within a sensible mileage from me - ones that I trust at any rate. And turns to a 30min trip at least, and unfortunately closes by the time I escape from work. Anyway, that aside I don't buy from the butcher as much as I used to which saddens me

I do buy from the counter in the supermarkets as that's the best option that I have for moment, unfortunately my free time is limited so I choose the lazy option
Anyway, I'm just curious how much you guys get through. A lot of people are astounded that I spend that much on food per week for myself - but I think it's about right?
