Too much Leucine can hinder the other amino's from what I've read (on BSD's product description). How much is too much? If I were to incorporate Leucine content within the EAA's too.
The issue with leucine is pretty much only its relationship with the other two BCAAs - as I remember it, when leucine is taken in large amounts, one of the things that happen is the rate of leucine protein turnover increases. This means more is oxidised but only that which can be replaced. This is good as it promotes healthier cells.
The downside and potential risk is that leucine, when oxidised from muscle tissue, also takes isoleucine and valine with it away from the muscle tissue. If the isoleucine and valine aren't also replaced then it creates problems rebuilding the muscle tissue. It turns out though that this issue is nomally only a problem in a low protein diet - most people will easily have enough of the other two BCAAs not to worry about this at all.
