A few pics from my Duathlon race the other week...

Definitely lost some mass from up top, which I'm now looking to put back on (plus a little extra) over the next few months. Next race is around March, so have a little while to concentrate on muscle rather than endurance... well, maybe an even balance. two day full body routine, two day long endurance rides, some bodyweight exercises/light home weights sessions a few times per week too.

Race wasn't the best really... few rookie mistakes.
went off a little too quickly and hitting too high a gear on the first parts of the bike, so burned out the legs.
Shall be hopefully hitting the same race (Spring Ballbuster) which is in March, so knowledge of the route and slight better preparation should help a bunch.

Unfortunately only came in 372/500, so not great, and at 4hr 28min, I know that I could happily finish in under 4hours nearer 3:30 to be honest, still... beginning of a learning curve as the only other races I've done have been around the 1.5 hour mark.

I did love the fact that during the race I burned around 4-5000cals, therefore I really did eat everything for the next two days.

Looking good Rich, i think the 'fit and healthy' look actually suits you better than big and bulky would.

It was the only one they had Cleaver! But I think I'm gonna match my outfit with it next time...

Ref to the "fit n healthy" look suiting me more, I do feel that I prefer that look nowadays really... I seem a lot happier with myself since I've stopped worrying about getting bigger all the time. Still like to get a little bigger and better conditioned, working mainly on the useful muscles for the triathlons along with keeping the look fairly balanced.

Something along the lines of...

Easily achievable for you mate.

Some good pics of you in action there.

I have to say I've never seen you looking so happy in pics. I think the lean and fit look suits you! Rookie mistakes are how we learn. :) Gotta say I'm looking forward to your next race review already.
