Upcoming boxing

Postby roadz on Fri Jul 03, 2009 12:08 am

So it looks like Mayweather-Marquez is back on for September and Pacquiao-Cotto should be on for November.

I'm really looking forward to both fights and hope they don't go to shit like a lot of recent fights have. I think both fights could go either way. However, I do think Mayweather will most likely beat Marquez. I would like Pacquaio to beat Cotto and I think he can, but it won't be easy.

I'd be fairly disappointed if both Mayweather and Pacquiao don't win because I'd love to see Mayweather-Pac man... This fight be would be huge and involve silly amounts of money. I personally can't wait!

Any thoughts or views about these fights or ones that could/should happen after these?

Pac v Mayweather. id pay to watch that defo - only decent fight left in the current ranks to watch

I dont know who would win that - has Mayweather got that fire in his Gut? He got far to much money and thus must have less hunger. Pac is a machine and he dont stop - I think it would be a 8+ round fight but awesome!

it definitely would be an exciting fight. Saying that though, the welterweight division has a lot talent and there are several fighters that could all make good fights... Pac, mayweather, marquez, cotto, mosley.

I just hope mayweather doesn't try to avoid fighting pac by demanding a silly percentage of the purse. Pac is just as big a draw as mayweather, if not bigger. I also think mayweather knows there is a chance pac could beat him so may not want to take the fight.

Mayweather has been saying he will take back his p4p crown when he beats Marquez, but Pac is currently seen as the p4p king, so I don't see how he can say this.

hmm not sure you know Mayweather has a larger Global following due to his arrogance and showmanship - just a bigger Naseem
