Thanks Ash. Yeah, our "coach" is more than a waste space.

I think come the open water season I might accidentally push him in with a concrete block tied to his legs....

SUNDAY 19 APRIL

5k Pool Swim

Didn't go to plan today. Only managed 130 out of 200 lengths. Everything has been conspiring against me. You know what's took me by surprise this morning, and the new tablets from the doctor still making me feel ill. Got to 70 lengths and was feeling really sick. Kept pushing through but had to jump out quick at 130 and run to the loo and promptly spent the next 10 mins throwing up and nearly passing out at one point. Took me about 20 mins to get to my feet again.

Still, there is positive from today. It was ILLNESS that stopped me. The swimming itself was going well. I felt quite strong and my shoulder was holding out brilliantly. Not as fast as I would have liked but that's not surprising really. So, not entirely a disaster. If I can swim as well as that feeling as ill and exhausted as I was then it bodes well for when I am feeling better.

Well.... I put a rocket up fuck face's arse yesterday on the phone and he should be getting a copy of the form he "supposedly" sent in to the ASA to club tonight. Am keeping my fingers crossed...if he does come through then I can fax that to the ASA tomorrow and hopefully get a number and can send my Carlisle Masters application off on Wednesday. Am thinking of just sending the Masters application off anyway with an explanation note about the number problem and then at least the payment is with them.

Fingers crossed!

FINALLY.

After much shouting and putting a stupid moron in his place, I have finally got the issue of my number sorted out. Bloody hell. I swear I will throttle that man one day.

But it's all good...Carlisle here I come! (and embarrass myself at just how slow I now am! )

OOOOOH! EXCITED LITTLE PENGUIN!!!

Just had a phone call from my friend who I swim with most of the time at the lake (as mad as me! ) and I've got the chance to do a PROPER training session twice a week from 6:00am to 7:30am with the REAL swimming club! Plus, it's only £2.50 a session for twice as long as my "club". ROCK ON! :D

I wont be changing clubs entirely because I need to be a member of the Long Distance one for my open water stuff, plus I really like the guys I train with so don't want to miss that.

But HOORAY! I can train properly!!!!!!!

I am beyond excited. I am now one bundle of bounciness!!!

WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

It certainly is! There is just nowhere for us "old" farts to train properly round here, and I miss it so much - not just from the point of view of the performance enhancement, but also from the enjoyment aspect. Going tomorrow morning for my first go. I have a feeling it is going to KILL me!

When you say proper club - Is it a lcoal swim club in a pool? Most of them young kids training for the next Olympics etc? Will be very hard I imagine

Sounds good - Make sure you update on the session - If you have any energy left :D

Unfortunately didn't get to swim this morning...they "forgot" to tell me I need to be a member of their club for insurance purposes  Only a delay, not a stop. Just got to get the bits and pieces sorted out and then it's rocking and rolling.

I certainly will update...if I can type...from hospital...
