Pingu's Final 5% Journal (Diet Only)

Postby Pingu on Sun Feb 15, 2009 10:28 am

I decided I would start a separate journal to deal specifically with the cut I will be following over this next year, in a sense it is going to be separate to my weight training.

I am saying a year because I don't how long it is going to take me to lose the final 5% BF, and I have swim season in the middle where I can't even consider cutting as it will be dangerous for me. So, I am setting a realistic goal for myself. I don't want to put too much pressure on myself as for me this can be dangerously counter productive. I've done so well improving my relationship with food and I certainly don't intend to jeopardise that.

I don't have my King of Lean plan yet but am going to start on my own using everything I have learned so far, and will be focusing on alkalising too, plus the use of Alcar and Fish Oils as well. If I don't start now it is going to slip and that is simply not acceptable.

STARTING STATS

* Weight - 61.9kg
* BF - 20.7%

This has been the same for about the last 4 weeks since I decided to just maintain as I had been on calorie restriction for quite a while (about 10/11 weeks)

By the end of the year my aim is to be 16%-17% BF

STARTING PICS

I've put below my current back picture...and for interest a set of comparison shots to show just how much progress I have already made!!! I will take a new one each month. When I feel comfortable showing the front shots, I will. (no boys, this will be with my bra ON! :lol:)

Really pleased with the latest one!!!!

Right then, let's rock and roll!!!

Thanks Rob!

29 November - 64.7kg / 30.3%BF

So a loss of 8.1% and 2.8kg

Have been measuring the BF the same all along so am reasonably sure the drop is reasonably accurate.

Ooh, not done that for a while...wow! Now even more pleased! :D

SUNDAY 22 FEBRUARY 2009

Everything stayed the same this week (well, -0.2kg).

Bit disappointed, have looked back and have done everything right.... could be this week has totally put a spanner in the works for my plans given how stressful and tired it has been. You know what's are today as well, but that normally affects me 1-2 weeks before in terms of skewing the measurements. That's all I can think of. It wont be the plan!

Never mind.

On the positive, I feel a lot better. I feel "cleaner", healthier and with more energy despite the long hours and extreme emotional turbulence so there are a lot of good things!

Going to do 2 weeks worth of plans today so I can always remain one week ahead to make it easier for shopping etc.

Ding ding...week 2.

Dont worry about that. Stick to the plan. The scales LIE and often tell you nothing.

Pingu: it's not about weight, but about body fat percentage. Maybe your weight didn't change, but perhaps your body fat percentage has??

Anyway, the nutritional plan you are on is going to firstly start a detoxifying process. Once that initial phase of that process is completed* then body changes will happen more visually (I believe).

* detoxification always happens in the body from the day we are born to the day we die. That's what I guess could be called ongoing detoxification. However, you can help the process to what might be considered "extra/supplementary detoxification" by what you eat & drink. Thus, helping to increase the rate of detoxification to eliminate bad stuff from the body. Once that goes (or most of it goes), as I say things will start to look even brighter ;)

The point so far is that you are "feeling better, cleaner & healthier". That's a massive thing. It makes you more positive (as you say). You also say that work has been very busy; that has a massive effect too.

Don't worry; it'll happen :D

I trust you! I do feel all those things and that is a massive thing. I guess it's just hard in the first week when you don't SEE a benefit....can be a bit demoralising.

It's OK though. Wont stop me! It's been a pretty crappy week all round so hopefully next week will be better!

From the pics there is a great improvement from November - what were your stats then?

I'm following the plan that Scott has put together for me so don't need to log the diet as such, but just wanted to actually make a specific focus on it to help me keep on track... you guys have a great way of helping me do that so thank you! ;)

Yes, I have come a long way and am absolutely delighted of course!!! BUT...I really don't like where I am at now and want to drop that final 5% ish. I don't like having blubbery bits! :lol:
