Ground wild sorghum is hardly comparable to processed grains of today. Find evidence of our ancestors eating cocopops, hovis best of fucking both and mr Kipling cakes. That would be interesting :D

Yeah that's the key point in terms of the different effect of such foods - modern mass-processed crap is far worse and nothing like processed grains that have been hand ground and prepared in natural ways.

Is interesting though - if homosapiens did generally evolve with a higher carb diet than suspected by some then it's a big one in the face for the anti carbers, and kicks out their assertion that modern diseases are mostly due to more carbs in the diet without further consideration of how those carbs are processed - which to me is the key factor. Having said that though, humans had already been around 100,000 years before those remians are dated, so it's possible that what is found there was a very new thing for humans to be doing.

From what i've read though it makes sense that paleo man ate different foods according to where in the world he lived, and that macros would be different according to geography...so to me much of the debate about what specific diet paleo man ate is a bit retarded. The paleo diet in the northern hemisphere was primarily one of costal foods, as there was feck all to find further inland in the winter due to our climate... but humans living in subtemperate and tropical regions had access to seasonal 'inland' foods all year round, so it can hardly be assumed with any intelligence that all paleo man everywhere must have eaten the same kind of things.

I feel better than ever after switching to a diet based on good foods. If it's a good thing, eat it - regardless of macros. Works very well for me....

Haha, once someone has a zealous belief in something there is no point arguing with them (other than to gain personal pleasure by watching their reaction)

If you post an article that in any way supports carbohydrates in the diet or in anyway knocks saturated fat he will come up with whatever he needs to 'prove' his point.
No matter what you believe there is always a way to paint it as the truth, he does so vehemently.
As far as the scientific merit of the article, no doubt humans have consumed some grains throughout their entire evolution from pre homo species.
One thing is for certain, it was never in the volume of modern agricultural societies where it is a sole staple food.

However, this does not include all forms of carbohydrate, as i have argued before there are MANY types of 'paleolithic' carbohydrate sources, except for extreme northern climates (where there is only a small amount in summer months, berries etc).
In temperate climates there have been cat-tails, tubers of all kinds, berries, internal starch stores of trees, saps, roots and buds etc.
Traditionally the females of the soceity collected these types of foods as they could keep the children safe in that environment whilst the males went out hunting game (this can be seen in pratically all hunter gatherer soceities)

I have discussed before the strong evolutionary pressure of consuming grains for 10,000 years of 'agricultural revolution', but this is often ignored by people who follow the 'false' high fat steak mince, butter, cheese, eggs and bacon 'paleolithic' diet, they don't have a clue what they are talking about.

Was wondering when you'd post on this Pain :D . I don't know how you've managed to avoid punching a hole in the wall next your PC by posting over there as long as you have - I got to that point over there once I realised that rational argument will always just be met with a continuous drone of out of context facts and erroneous or, at the very best, questionable theories presented as estabilshed fact. Some of what Nu posts is good information - but most of it gets lost in biased presentation and interpretation.

No point staying on a forum where there's no real discussion, just a battle of one persons idea of a fact vs another persons. It ceases to be about trying to learn new things and just becomes about blindly winning a point.... as it always does when someone has made their mind up about something and is no longer open to questioning that view without pejudice.

NU is a total and utter gobshite!

I very rarely post on there any more, but there is one guy on there called 'ATZ' (Any one know him?) who makes some good points and is always arguing with NU.

I really dislike how the MP forum is overly moderated... I used to see it as a source of knowledge, but it's now just a place for MP to plug their products.

Its over moderated to feck mate, and the high fat dont train club rule the roost. REAL people wh train and get REAL results are just idiots that dont know what their talking about on there

90% of the main posters on here were once all main posters on the MP forum but all left for that reason.....some left on their own, some got banned, some got banned so it made them leave and they couldnt post any more even if they wanted to :)

Also, I find that the new posters ask for advice and are sucked in by the likes of NU and then they feed this information on to the next generation of new posters... It's bollocks!

RC has however changed his views and I do respect him for this.
