Beast!

Go easy on the GF. If you ride like you deadlift then she'll be sore by the end of the week

I weighed myself before and was 83kg. Would be a bit lighter in the morning dryweight so somewhere around 330kg i would think. 310kg wasn't tooo slow so more to come for sure. Gotta be like Chris Jenkins, he's the guy i'm aiming for atm.

Good god man, that is insane lifting! Nice one. Do you think you have an ideal body structure for deadlifting? I mean, I know you're strong at it, but it sort of destroys most of your other lifts.

Yeh i think thats pretty obvious tbh, long arms and a short torso..certainly helps put it that way!
I dont have the people or facilities around me to regularly squat in gear or bench in a shirt, well i kinda do but the its a big compromise either way whereas the deadlift is no compromise and i can train it 100%. The squat i can train well with wraps, but add suits on top and it becomes a nightmare setting up walking out and no adequate spotters etc. Im compromising atm.

Had some crazy band tension going down tonight

ME Lower

~15" Block pull + doubled blue bands + doubled pink bands = 100kg @ top

I had a 50kg dumbell attached to each set of blue and pink bands, still wasn't enough to cope with the band tension. The dumbells were lifted along with the bar weight.

Bar x many
70kg x 20
Add doubled blue bands
70kg x 3
Add doubled pink bands
70kg x 3
120kg x 3
170kg x 3
220kg x 1 - Belt on
250kg x 1
270kg x 1 PB, about 370kg in the hands

Low box squat - straight weight, comp depth

75kg x 3
105kg x 3
125kg x 3
135kg x 3

Gave up, couldn't be bothered at this point

SLDL - 3" defecit

70kg x 6
120kg x 6
170kg x 6

Good stretch in the hamstrings

Abs - 2 x 12

Might lower the bar slightly next week, perhaps too 12". Basically training the part of the lift were bar speed dropped.
I have noticed that my flexibility seems to have improved. Squatting with a wide stance, multi-ply style, and getting well below parallel. Good stuff.

Back

15" Block pull + 100kg band tension

70kg x 5
Add band tension
70kg x 5
120kg x 3
170kg x 1
210kg x 1
250kg x 1
280kgx 1

First time i've ever had an issue with gripping, could just start too feel the bar going at the very top.

Bent over berbell row - Strict, no momentum

70kg x 10
100kg x 8
120kg x 8
130kg x 6

Barbell shrug

70kg x 10
120kg x 3 x 10

Pull-up

BW x 12, 8..knackered

Possible comps later on in the year with Scottish powerlifting, not part of the GBPF...the situation is confusing so i don't understand 100% but im pretty sure its separate from the GBPF. Juniors is in October with the possibility of guest lifting at the Masters in Aberdeen in December.

Bodyweight is hovering around 86kg still, university is taking out a lot of time, both training and eating time so if i can keep to 86kg ill be happy then get back to it in April towards 100kg.

Thanks Ash. You're doing a lot of comps atm, and your time keeps dropping so you're doing well. You've had a busy schedule so will you take it easy for a bit now before the next one?

400! Ouch get ready for some serious serious lactic pain - You always put in more effort in a race and espcially the last straight you just push through the lactic - much much more so than in training and boy oh boy does it hurt

...Actually I never raced a 400m 'properly', but have raced a few 800's hard and pretty much the same thing.
