Hey d00ds, some of you know me, some of you dont. I wasn't planning on coming onto here but Curt said its all fun and lulz so I thought I would give it a try, and dont worry I wont be posting that much so no need to start calling me a post whore yet :)

And from what I've seen this site is very very very very nice.

Anyway, best give some info on those lucky lucky people who havnt had the pleasure of being introduced yet.


Name: Matt Wild
Age: 17
Bodyweight Class: 75kg

Squat: 140kgx3 (belt, knee wraps)
Bench: 100kgx5
Deadlift: 165kgx1 (belt)

Next Comp: UK OPEN POWERLIFTING, BENCHPRESS & DEADLIFT CHAMPIONSHIPS @ 14th September 2008




I might start doing a bit of strongman soon as I met a guy at another gym who was telling me about a local comp, he is getting me the details.


Im on a ripptoe type program atm, well ripptoe and 5x5.

Mon - Squat, Bench, Military Press
Tue or Wed - Squat, Deadlift, Powercleans/Snatch
Fri - Squat, Bench, Bent Over Row/DB Row/Pendlay Row/T-Bar Row/Pull Ups


Squats I do easy, under half my 1rm 5x5,
Bench at the moment im experimenting with, ive had a good build up if I do 50-60% of 1rm for 5x5 paused all sets, I went from 100x3 did 60x5x5 for one week and then got 100x5 the next week (first two were paused).
Deadlift, I only do once a week so I go balls to the ball, ya'no like powerlifters should :D
If you're not sure if you're getting quality sleep or not, this is your standard: You should always wake up under a teepee. If you don't have a boner so solid you have to do a handstand to take a morning piss, your Testosterone levels are probably low.

Welcome MJ, lets hope we dont see a repeat of some of the nonsense thats given you problems with some of the folks here in the past.

Hows your training these days? If i remember rightly you have a tendancy to be a bit inconsistant and change things around a lot.

Good lad...

Your bench is the most impressive I would say.

Good luck at comp Ill be there to wrap you etc anyways :)

squatting 3x a week though surely isn't good?

edit; the inconsistency hasn't changed... but its got him a 100x5 bench so who can argue?

At the sep open I plan on

Squat- 150
Bench- 110
Deadlift- 180 (probably not though)

at my last comp I got 140 deadlift when my max was 160, so I have no idea how that will play out :)

your max wasn't 160 cos didn't you fail 160?

You have all other lifts there easily if you build up and de-load correctly and smartly...

I'm guessing your short with big squat and bench numbers and a lesser DL number?

Thats about ideal for either BB or PL but not for modeling or reaching for naughty mags off the top shelf :mrgreen:

Thats what step ladders are for! and even then I download all my naughty's :D

No, I dont plan to; I wont a 150 raw bench @ 75kg class first.

MJ i thought 100 was your one rep max? Good improvement


It was.. and then it increased :) by 4 reps in 3 weeks :D

Edit: Incase I didnt say anything, I aint using any equipment until the last 2-3 weeks out of my comp, just regular food, No ECA stack atm.

Notes

I didnt do 5x5 today, I felt strong when I got there but just couldnt be bothered, the 100's were solid and the 140's were as well.
60kg powercleans were easy but I had to do 3 attempts for the 80's and I got 1/2 jerk.


And Curt, I know I promised something magical with deadlifts, looks like you'll have to wait a bit longer :)

I plan to go easy for the next 2 weeks (deload) and then go all out; get some new pb's. I like this deload plan, hopefully 100x8 in 3 weeks lol, that would be nice and the way my bench is increasing at the moment I wouldnt be suprised if I did get it.

deload then all out? don't go all out until the day of your comp mate... and no equipment meaning no belt? thats just stupid.... you should be using wraps and belt now until comp... that way you may hit bigger weights in gym and can open bigger..

Im getting my core strength up at the moment, im training like this for another 2-3 weeks (deloading) and then using equipment for another deload until comp.

Not using anything is helping with my form as well, I can feel what ive done so its easier to not do it again.

week 1 - [belt and wraps on squat]

week 2-

1x2 - not failure

week 5
de load... easy weights, very fast speed.
