The sarcasm is strong in this one :lol: It was a lactate set :?
If you're not sure if you're getting quality sleep or not, this is your standard: You should always wake up under a teepee. If you don't have a boner so solid you have to do a handstand to take a morning piss, your Testosterone levels are probably low.

thats a matter of opinion, to me lactic acid isnt a 'waste' product, the opposite actually.

Good stuff matt, what sort of periodisation are you using? do you decrease volume and increase weights towards competitions at all?

That is exactly what I do :) unless im feeling weak I do a deload and then continue the same the week after that.

I work upto 90% 1rm but do 1 set 1rep or 2 sets 1 rep a week out.

What I'm trying to fathom is:

1) Why you think it isn't a waste product
2) Why you're doing lactate sets on 5kg DBS

I'm trying to establish if you have:

A) Found something new
2) Stumbled across something but misunderstood it
D) Just got things plain wrong

1) its anabolic, it does the same job insulin does.
2) I do it for the pump as well.. I alway pose in the mirror after training :roll:

A/2/D is a famous line from Home Alone (1?)

Where did you read that LA does the same job as insulin?

Ok LA sets are used to build up a threshold to LA in order to improve your efficiency in disposal/usage of LA.

When you are exercising your body generates ATP from muscle glycogen, but as reps/intensity continues hypoxia is induced (tissue oxygen debt) and the body is forced to create LA to be used for fuel as ATP can no longer be generated due to the induced hypoxia, the LA is then used to create glucose for energy.

LA left in the muscle is a waste product in the sense it hasn't been disposed of.

Squat - form work, squeezed my glutes hard, kept tension all the time.

Bench - all paused form work again.

Quick easy session, my right bicep where it inserts is killing me, my right elbow gave out on me as well during the last set, was going to do 2 more sets.

posing is for body builders, you can only get away with doing it as a powerlifter if your names Kirk :D
