Finished my workout this morning,feeling calm,happy and stress free until i went to the changing rooms.Went to where i thought i had my locker and couldnt find my blue padlock. Starting to feel a bit silly as i walk round to every blue padlocked locker trying my no. combination. After about 10mins of this i was starting to draw a crowd,then a maintenance man asks what im up too. Explained the situation to him and he starts to help. Thing is ive noticed that a few of the crowd are giving me evil looks,strange as i would laugh at someone as silly as myself forgetting where my locker was! Then a little italian bloke says that my locker was next to his,went over there and cant find a blue padlocked locker. Turns out that someone has broken the lock off and rummaged through my stuff,the angry crowd have had the same treatment and thought it was me trying to get into all the lockers! Anyway i thought my phone had gone and proceeded to start effing and blinding and punched a locker or two. Found my phone at the bottom of the locker,must of fallen out of my pocket as they went through my strides. So i lost nothing but some people lost a lot of money,credit cards and phones. To get access to virgin you have to be a member and can only gain access with a card you swipe through the turnstile,very strange.

Sheeesh! In a virgin as well?...they sure must be able to narrow it down! bastards! any sign of how they took the padlock off?

Apparently it happens alot,they must of used a small crow bar as the padlocks were sort of stretched open. Oh forgot to mention when i went to my car i found the keys tro the brand new jag i was parked next to,broken under my car. I reckon they got the keys,then noticed that the car park had cctv and threw them away.

bloody hell so they def must be spotted on CCTV and could be found out?.....bit brave as well to do that as changing rooms are generally busy so the chances of being 2 ppl were greater......

Thats what a fella who lost a lot of money said. Maintenence man reckons that it happens at all virgin gyms and that a former army pt found one bloke doing it and broke his arms.Told him that if i caught the bloke he would get a lot worse,glad i never caught them really as i never lost anything.

well tbh it is a risk as in all honesty the chances of being caught by someone who will more than likely go for you is even greater lol.....

Thats pretty fecking astonishing! Glad you didn't get anything nicked like but as has been said you'd think it would be easy enough to catch people at those antics in a gym with that much surveilence. The gym get away without any paying out to customers because all of that 'at your own risk' lark? I'd go absolutely apeshit if the same happened to me

A few of the fellas tried to claim off virgins insyrance but as you say use of the lockers is at your own risk. Really as a private club you should be able to claim imo.

For all its faults that should never happen and the Next Generation i just finished at, there was a little black dude that was in the changing rooms the whole time cleaning, giving people towels etc

I was just thinking that jake - its crazy that they provide them but have no cover...thats just bollox...but then how dod u put CCTV in changes rooms as well lol....bit of an odd one this...bestthing would have been to catch the feckers and slam there heads between the lockers a few times......Pacino style...bracing there heads as you take a nice big heave pushing the locker door shut on there head!

that is scary! I got the same a similar dude in my NG!...its good though as he checks it like every 30-60 mins....

He was about the only good thing about the place, always asked if i had a good workout, always told me them steroids i was drinking would make me crazy and was pro at telling teenagers to shut up and stop arsing around

If it keeps happening you would think they would address the problem,it is a pretty upper class establishment. I mean the car park is like an advert for top gear,theres Astons,ferraris,jags and Bmw's.My missus tells me that some of the "boys" used to go nicking cars to order from here. Glad ive only got an old Galaxy at the moment!

More reason to go there on the rob i guess.. pointless taking the risk at a leisure centre gym and coming away with a Matalan card and 20 quid pay as you get your giro phone.

Kp if i had caught them at the time i think i would still be in the cells now ,but as i said glad i never as i didnt lose anything,only my temper!

Shame you didn't catch them in the act... I'd have paid to have seen their reaction.

That sucks though - why do people have such little respect for other people's property these day? And why is it they feel they have the right to help themselves to your stuff?!

I'm gonna take my stuff into the gym with me from now on,not meant to but better to be safe.Does make you wild that they have rifled through your gear.

I have to say I just do that... we're not supposed to either, but I dump it in the corner out of the way, at least I can keep an eye on it.

Some bloke was turning over our gear at the rugby club years back and I found him as I was injured during a game and went back to the changing rooms to get me fags and a pint to watch the rest of the game!

I walked into the changing room and this bloke is going through my stuff, so very calmly I asked if everything was all right and he said he was just getting some of his stuff - cheeky bugger!

Anyway, upshot was I stopped him dead in his tracks from going through stuff and we called the Police.

The Police turn up and a couple of the boys had been sitting with him and he starts saying he was assaulted, which is bollocks as I didn't even chin him!

Then as the coppers are leading him to the car, he pushes one over and runs off to escape - tit! He runs over the A3 dogging cars etc., so could have got killed, but sadly for him he's now got 100+ boys after him who are none too happy.

Finally caught him and luckily for him Snack got to him first and stopped Austin and some of the nastier lads from giving him a kicking!

Anyway, later we hear he gets off with a caution and is found in Old Wimdleons changing rooms a few weeks later and gets his jaw broken by one of the lads.

This sucks mate!

I used to carry my stuff about the gym with me. I didn't really bring much with me though, just my water and phone as a timer... Don't have this hassle at thome though.

I always take mine into the gym. i use a small football boot bag, holds my phone, wallet and keys. Need a bigger bag as i want to take a few pieces of equipment in with me.

Turned out ok for me in the end,got a call off the manager yesterday telling me that i dont have to pay gym fees next month as way of an apology! Apparently whoever hit this gym got 2 laptops,a few credit cards and quite a bit of money,also they did another 3 virgin gyms in london and the south east that saturday. All of the gyms were accessed with valid membership cards.

Yeah,i have started wearing strides with zip up pockets so i can keep my phone,keys and membership card on me at all times.
