Why are Chavs like slinkies? They have no real use but it's great to watch one fall down a flight of stairs.

This is something i need to start looking at. Arthritis is common in my family - my grandfather had it very badly by his forties and had to have surgery on his spine to deal with it. Have noticed myself in the last six months a nodule has appeared on one of the knuckles of my left hand... the doc confirmed it was arthritis. I get the burning in both hands in fact when its damp... and this affects my grip in training.

Any ideas on what to take?

For arthritic issues;

1500mg Glucosamine with 1200mg Chronroitin per day for 3 months then a half dose maintenance thereafter forever

Galt - Cissus seems to be the stronger option for people with the issues as a preventative - it would appear that taking Cissus for too long as a preventative CAN mask problems.......hence why take it only for 6 weeks at a time then 3-4 weeks off

My osteotherapist told me that we don't have the enzymes necessary to absorb chondroitin, but caveated that by saying that there's plenty of anecdotal evidence for its effectiveness.

I use glucosamine and MSM but not all the time

I've seen plenty claims about Hemp Oil being able to help... wether it's true or not I don't know.

I've read plenty about green lipped mussel extract being a very could supp for arthritis. Not sure how accurate the science is behind the claims.

I'd say you should treat it the same a gout and stay off the same types of foods that can irritate that symptom.

I heard health adverts talk about arthritis and joint pain on the radio and they say to eat "less" red meat and more green veg such as broccoli for the minerals. Think its something to do with this alkalizing thing.
