Ahoy M8ies!

Longtime lurker here, who's finally found the courage to post up an introduction - you guys sure r strong! Though I do have my favourites among the many journals - all of u guys have very inspirational journals.
About me:
Growing up, I played a ton of footie, but my years as a talented striker in Torquay are long gone and I've taken up the iron - mostly to work the "beach muscles" to get more birds.

I hope to get to know u guys!

Like I said, I used to play a ton of footie, but had a career-ending knee injury. This also means I can't really do any legwork at the gym, so I focus on the upper body exercise - their the most fun anyways.
I will start a journal as soon as I get some RL work out of the way, going through the journal forum tells me that I need to get a journal (or five) if I want any attention around here. That's also a much easier way for me to show u how I train.
Dietwise, I eat porridge every morning and try to eat as healthily as possible. I don't go to McDonalds etc that often and when I do, I always go for the healthy options - McChicken etc..
I hope to learn alot, as I've been struggling to get my sixpack back after my injury. I'm currently doing 150 crunches every morning, but seeing no real progres. :(

Only a 150 crunches you need at least 200 morning and evening to get a six pack.

And everyone knows the fillet-o-fish is the healthy option at maccy d's.

You CANNOT spot reduce body fat. So, no matter how many crunches, situps etc you do in a day, week, year, if you have fat on your belly you ain't gonna see the abs.

Clean up the diet (for a start that means never eating at McDs) and do metabolic/conditioning training to get lean up.

Ahoy me hearty and welcome to ESN.

AS Health says, you cannot spot reduce fat. You'd be better off going for a walk before breakfast than doing the crunches.

Also situps and crunches are ab exercises that are most likely leading to back pain, short rectus abdominus leading to increase in thoracic kyphosis, and virtually doing no good for the athletic population.

As for talking about MaccyDs, I sincerely hope you are taking the piss. Absolutely no such thing as a healthy meal there. If I'm gonna cheat I'd rather make pizza or burgers myself as it's a damn sight more tasty.

I think that McD's are okay as long as it's not your every day meal. (Personally twice a year works for me!)

You have to decide what you want and then work toward it. If you're carrying some fat and you want a six pack sadly you need to be disciplined. If you just want to get strong and be in better shape you can get away with a few beers and crap meals.
