Hello guys and girls...

Just a quick introduction to help spread the love!

I am a Personal Trainer from Oxford and just been recruited by a modelling agency for fitness and underwear work so we will see what that brings. I specialise in altering body composition and strength training.

I haven't used forums in a while so if anybody wants to fire a question at me it is probably best to do it as a message or email as I don't know what my schedule will be like in the future.

Anyway its a pleasure to be on board and hopefully this will stay a nice place to post, lets leave the internet abuse on other forums. We all know negativity is bad for cortisol levels...

Intro over, big love!

Ben

Ah, so many things I left out!

Training style in short alternates accumulation and intensification phases of 30 days each. My workouts are based on an Arms, Legs, Off, Torso, Off, Repeat cycle.

Goals are simultaneously mass and strength while keeping fat low, I was unfortunately out of action for 3 months including a hospital stay of 8 days so lost all my size and dropped to a horrific 67.5kg at a height of 5' 11".

Long story short I managed to get the weight back on quickly as I have taken time off work to get myself back in good shape and health.

At the moment I am into my accumulation phase on a broad pyramid cycle which looks like this (one exercise demonstrated only)

Exercise A1)
Workout 1: 8,6,4,4,6,8
Workout 2: 7,5,3,3,5,7
Workout 3: 6,4,2,2,4,6
Workout 4 repeats workout 1 but with the weight of workout 2.
etc.

I am now at 84.5kg around 7% bodyfat using an 11 point skinfold test. Strength is improving dramatically although legs are lagging due to the inability to work them when I came out of hospital (drug interactions caused a lot of joint inflammation for about 8 weeks).

That is probably enough for now without going into silly amounts of detail. If anyone is still reading this feel free to ask away!

Ahh, I heard about the forum through the customer service team.

I got such an astonishingly quick response I had to find out more about the company (it was literally less than 5 minutes). I make quite a lot of online orders and customer service is extremely important to me, I hate having to wait a week or more for supplement delivery.

So that's about it, a couple of emails back and forth and they said I should visit the forum so I happily obliged!

Ye BSD are good and run by good people (that train).

How long have you been training for? I like the raining approach mixing strength with hypertropy works well for me too

All in all I started in a little leisure centre gym when I was 17, when I started taking it seriously I joined a filthy prison style weightlifting club and now train at a fairly well equipped gym which is closer to me. I turned 22 on valentines day and have been qualified as a personal trainer for about two and a half years.

P.S., how did you know Right Said Fred was my favourite tune to deadlift to?

Ah, a good question! It technically isn't going yet as I have had no paid jobs although being registered with an agency means I am in a position to get put forward for castings.

I simply sent photos to any agency I would like to be registered with. Most agencies don't require any professional photos in the beginning although it can obviously help if they are more flattering. As they all have a different client base some simply won't be interested in your look and others will love having you on board.

The main things I would recommend are feel fine accepting rejection as it obviously maximises your chances by emailing as many agencies as are applicable and chances are not all are going to take you on. Also don't pay to register with an agency, you do not have to shell out for an expensive portfolio and if they charge you upfront fees they are going to be more interested in having a shedload of clients on board for profit rather than promoting models actually worth their salt.

I registered with a website called starnow which is a paid website where models, photographers, presenters etc can apply for castings directly. It is definitely worth having as any jobs you get through there you will keep 100% of rather than letting the agency take their cut.

If there is anything else I can help you with just let me know.

A good friend of mine did something similar although he registered with a more Fitness based agency. He got lucky and managed to get on December's cover of Men's Fitness after 2 months.

I'm not sure but can find out.

James Greenwood is his name.
