If you could choose only one cheat

Postby Alex on Tue Jan 12, 2010 6:47 pm

Following from the thread roadz posted up - same categories, but cheats.

Protein - Beef Burger but a chopped steak one.

Carbs - Some form of decent Italian bread/bun like ciabatta or focaccia.

Veg - Potato's in any form but especially wedges and waffles.

Fat - Cheese.

Fruit - Tomatoes.

Good idea, but to be comprehensive we need a booze category:

Protein - Duck (preferably in orange sauce if that's allowed).

Carbs - Carrot cake with cream cheese icing.

Veg - Dauphinoise potatoes.

Fat - Fromage also.

Fruit - Mangoes.

Booze - Jaeger, straight out of the freezer.

I don't ever have or plan cheat meals....just some of my meals are better or worse nutritionally

What's up with potatoes and tomatoes you consider them a cheat Alex?

For me

Protein - Sausages

Carbs - Pizza (you know what I mean)

Veg - I would just eat no veg at all

Fats - Extra thick double cream - but I have this wily nilly anyway.

Nothing but you need them to make a proper cheeseburger. Realistically I'd swap out for chocolate fudge cake and clotted cream.

It's hard to choose items in specific categories when it's a cheat, as nutrition isn't exactly the most important factor when eating cheat meals... But I'll give it a go.

Protein: BBQ duck, more specifically from a restaurant called 'Green Cottage' - if you live in London or ever visit London, you must go to this place. It's in Swiss Cottage. It doesn't appear to be much but it's actually the best tasting Chinese food I've ever tasted.

Carbs: sticky rice (I love rice lol)

Veg: pak choi in some form of sauce

Fruit: mango

Fat: double cream

Carbs - Apple pie/crumble with custard mmmm
Veg(?) - umm? McCoys grilled steak crisps :)
Fruit - Can't really think of any i'd label cheat foods. fruit cake? :D

Ale - Magners

I eat and drink what I want and just cut down on simple sugars and booze when I feel I need to

In terms of cheat foods, the only foods I eat that I consider bad are: breast of lamb and pork belly

Hard this list as I don't consider anything 'cheat', and think a predominantly healthy diet allows space for some junk. Chose the most unhealthy foods I could eat myself to death with.

Protein: sweet & sour chicken

Carbs: chocolate fudge

Veg: salad with rich dressing

Fruit: pineapple fritter & ice cream

Fat: creme caramel

Don't think I can fit mine into the groupings but my cheats that I couldn't do without are...

PEPPERONI PIZZA
Haribo sweeties
Cadburys Caramel
A good single malt whisky (preferably Speyside)
PEPPERONI PIZZA

Mmmmmm......

Only one cheat?
anything containing chocolate.
And I still wouldn't be able to stick to it

I don't know why, but things like that really don't tickle my pickle... I've never really had much of a sweet tooth (quite glad tbh).
