Unless your going for a max 1 rep I see no reason to wrap your knees at all.

Why are Chavs like slinkies? They have no real use but it's great to watch one fall down a flight of stairs.

I always wrap from 140kg plus as a matter of course, and i believe some of the big 400kg+ lifters wrap from about the same weight.

Personally i dont think it takes anything away from the exercise in terms of muscle recruitment if you sit in the hole and dont try and bounce on tight wraps so prefer to play itself.

I think its important to do your fair share of unwrapped and unbelted squatting if you do use them. You dont want to get to the point where you cant squat without them.

Totally agree Mark, similar to when using straps deads, chins, etc. Try to not use them on the lighter sets.

I think a lot of it is down to confidence. Its the same with a spot, i can have the skinniest guy in the world spot me squatting, i know for a fact that if i go over, 125kg of me plus 200kg of weight is probably going to kill the guy let alone him be able to help me.. but i go deeper, i feel stronger and i hit more reps.

Its the same with wraps, they give me the confidence to hit depth when my brain may be telling me 'you know this is terrible for youre knees you idiot!'

I don't usually wrap, simply because the patella is an ultra-smooth surface, and the patella groove is an ultra-smooth surface, and with the added compression on the patellar tendon, overtime it is likely that the 2 surfaces rubbing will increase the abrasion of the ultra-smooth glidiness of the articular cartilage... Did you know articular cartilage is somefink' like 5x more slippery than ice. THat is not to say that Knee wraps don't have their use, I use them here and there, in moderation...

I've never used wraps. Even in my youth when I used to squat heavy I stayed away from them. As for now? Well the old knees can't get ATG any more so I only go to parallell and sure do not lift very heavy :(.

I use them with 1-3rm so basically anything 180kg upwards i like to wear both a belt and wraps. 5x5 i go totally raw. Without watching the vid, all you need to do is wrap upwards and outwards, right?

Yeh same goes for wrists aswell, theres a vid on the APT website about wrist wrapping and the different styles so i expect they'd have the same for knees.
