Heys guys n Gals,
Thought i'd drop in and introduce myself, i'm 35 and been training years...even if it doesn't show..lol
Over the last year or so i've had a massive energy slump, which it seems could be partly down to using stims ! This on top of the fact that eating rice, potato, oats, beans and other such carbs play havoc with my guts and leave me either wanting to throw up sleep or squit and sometimes all three!! But with some great help (thanks Craig), i'm getting back on track and actually starting to see improvements in the mirror again !!
Yours in ketosis
Neil.
P.s if i'm quiet it's probably because i'm reading :)

Yeah the carb sensitivity fits along with suspected adrenal fatigue among other things... Having to constantly watch what i'm eating is pretty hard for me as i love just about all food ! But if i don't watch it i end up in pain and i can almost see the fat piling up as my body stores it so fast.... It's so bloody frustrating ! and it drives my gf mad too !

Hi mate, welcome aboard.

You sound rather like me. Sweet potato is the only starchy carb that does not screw my insides up. Your energy slump will almost certain be directly linked to eating too many carbs, and of the wrong type for you.

For example, Sometimes we have a cooked breakfast scottish style on the weekend. Great!

However if I put my sausuages in a roll I always feel really tired afterwards and go a for a kip! Moral of the story is that bread is not for me. In a similar vein you will have to cut out all these things that are draining you.

It's not easy to start with. However once you start feeling better it is well worth it.

Supps & food that helps repair the gut.

Glutamine is a must; 10g on an empty stomach 2 times a day (first thing in am & last thing at night is always good).
Tumeric (curcumin): very powerful anti-inflammatory. Put it on everything you eat! lol
Fish Oils: lots of Omega-3s. Anti-inflammatory.
Pre & Probiotics would also help.

There's a starter for 10 ;)

For sure glutamine, I'd add lemon juice also as it both alkalizes and helps the liver/gall bladder out.
