Help with Liver Detox Program

Postby Rab on Fri Jun 11, 2010 8:40 am

Don like using th buzz word etox but yo get the point....

Will start dietig in ernest again in say 6 weeks time....with cardio starting gently a little sooner perhaps

Someone pointed out and there was a bit of chat about liver function and fat loss. Aso...a guy i know who as a liver problem who has been trying to diet for shows all year but jut cant seem to move it...got me thinking

SInce using orals a lot ( seveal weeks of winny pre comp, Var before that..) and right now dbol (weeks 2 of 4 im doing) i think it may be of benefit to do a wee liver regen/detox to try and make it function at its best and make losing fat a bit better when dieing

Migh not be any issue at all but if i can do a nice strong course of liver care then its gotta be worth hedging on?

ANy suggestions? High doses of Milk thistle was talked of? This would b pretty cheap?

I'm sure I remember Con exposing the benefits of eating raw celery with breakfast to help with liver health. However, in my sleep deprived, caffineated state I may have made that up. Will go see if I can find the thread.

Plenty of Greens in addition to what is mentioned above. Only thing you may initially notice is an increase in joint pain due to increases in Uric Acid but this will pass in a couple of weeks after starting the detox and doesn't occur in all individuals.

worth doing that liver prime
if you are gonna do it cheap- just ensure you are getting 1500mg-3000mg of milk thistle per day down your neck for a week (prob easier with the tincture in all honesty)

Isn't alpha lipoic acid supposed to be good too? That with greens should prove to be quite good no?

Good antioxidant so would work well enough plus using the Na-RALA variety would help stay lean as well.

One relatively cheap and cheerful way to protect the liver is to supplement with L Glycine. Seems it can offset alcohol damage so it would surely help defend against PEDs
