Hello everyone

Postby Will on Wed Mar 05, 2008 7:32 pm

Ok I'll try not to make this sound like I'm speaking at an AA meeting...

My name's Will I'm 27, 6'1" ish, around 15st around 14% BF - I was kindly invited here by Bison and know a few of the members here for other forums.

I used to play rugby relatively seriously but now have turned to lifting big metal things - have been doing it "seriously" for about 18months, though have been a regular gym goer for about 3 years though at the time I was after merely maintenance rather than anything else. I still try and keep cardio up by playing basketball and squash and the occaisional jog - however I hate jogging :p

I'm still looking to bulk/build/shape, but have got to a relatively decent level so far that I'm happy with.

I look forward to reading through this forum and making new friends and learning all sorts of new techniques and exercises as well as information, and sharing my experiences.

Rene eh? So my frogginess has already emerged here!? :p

I know basketball's Canadian - but hey they've got to be credited for something! Besides it's a good workout. Though us Brits aren't in the same league yet!

In your dreams! :p (actually I hope not! )

I don't have to try to be manly - I'm perfectly womanly as I am thank you!

I don't know if this forum is ready for pics of my gorilla like body (though a lot of it is shed when the beach calls ;)) however my PBs are:

DL: 190 (though I feel 200kg is going to happen soon)
Bench: 125 (though again I feel I can do more - I can push 6x110 without too much fuss).
Squat: 170 (though that was an easy 1 rep I could have repped a few more)

The DL I don't know what it is I know I've got it in me to push more but I just can't quite focus.

On incline bench I'm on 95kg at the moment.
Powercleans I've managed to do 102.5kg - but that's not with the full bend in the legs so the technique's not quite right

BORs I'm comfy between 80-100 at the moment haven't really ventured much further with that.

My goals for the next 6 months are to get over 200kg on DL, 140 Bench and 200kg on squats which I think is achievable, whilst keeping my BF to what it is now or as close to it as I can.

I wouldn't really call myself a powerlifter but I do enjoy doing some powerlifting training - I stick more to 5-10 reps on most exercises throughout my sessions in the week. I fluctuate between "heavy" weeks and "light" weeks which I have found to stimulate growth and endurance a lot.

Bison/Morba/Oddjob/Wardie have all heard my questions and successes many times so no doubt I will be posting on here for further advice in the help of my development.

I've had a nose around here and it seems like a really knowledgeable group of people - I hope I can help contribute to this place :)
