Hello and thanks to BSD

Postby DB! on Sun Nov 09, 2008 12:51 pm

Hi Guys,

Some of you may know me some may not...

I'm 25 and live in south London, 5ft11, 99kg on stage 109 kg this morning. Competed this year in the following shows :

UKBFF southcoast - 1st place inter O80's
UKBFF British finals - 6th place inter O80's
UKBFF Hercules - 4th place Heavyweights

Unfortunately I suffered a disc bulge (slipped disc) 3 weeks before the finals somewhat causing havoc with my prep and stopped me doing cardio

So i'm not undergoing physio and improving daily, so will be abck into full on training after Xmas, next show is the NAbba SE qualifier may 2010

BSD have kindly sponsored me so I'm sure that will help me on my journey to being on stage 10kg heavier next time

thanks guys!

Hi and welcome to the forum, impressive results indeed, especially given the injury!

You should come and train with me and Alex one day, or we could meet you in Kingston.

btw, how heavy are the dumb bells in Kingston. Raynes Park only goes up to 54kg which is a bit light for Alex.

Only 40kg's dude.. not a fan of dumbells anyway so for me its cool... always got more out of barbell but to each their own..

i only really use dumbells for lat raises, lunges and the odd bit of arm work.. of which 40kg is more than enough

:o

Just goes to show that depending on goals/body etc then some things just work (and apparently quite well too!).

I'm a huge fan on DBs though. Pound for pound they are harder than a BB. But again, all depends what your goals are.

pound for pound they are far harder I agree...Never do you see someone who can bench 160kg for 10 reps pushing 80kg dumbells for 10reps! but being harder is not always the best way to build muscle imo

its all down to personal preference and goals tho you are totally right..

or maybe i'm lazy and scared of hardwork :D

P.S
How do you post pics?
