Just wanted to introduce myself....
Pingu...a bird built for water not for land!! I am an open water swimmer, nearly 31 (in March) and have only been weight training since the beginning of December 2008. However, after "meeting" your very own GymBunny I have found someone who truly inspires me and she (even though she will deny it!) is a huge factor in my progress so far.
I decided to weight train because off season swimming is soooooo boring, up and down the pool (I did that for too many years as a child!!!). I also kinda fell into it...I am not a girly girl and have never liked asking you boys to lift anything for me etc. so thought I would use it as part of my off season plan.
Also, I needed to transform my body, big time. I have struggled with an ED for nearly 20 years now, and after last swim season I had put on so much fat it was simply unacceptable. However, I did not want to go about things in the wrong way again, so sought advice of a nutritionist (who turned out to be a complete dickhead and actually made things worse for a while). BUT.... it's all turned out great because I met GB who has helped me start with the training effectively, have done so much research and hard work, and have got a great gym with an Over 40s Mr England at the Helm!
At the moment I am following a keto diet (Christian Thibaudeau) to shed this fat, and will transition back to carb cycling when my body fat is low enough. Everything is measured and recorded to the gram and calorie!!!
Goal 1 - To lose body fat. Initially to 20% by my birthday in March and then for further review.
Goal 2 - To continue to train well and hard and give my body a good muscle base from which I can take things forward in the future when I have got to my BF goals.
Goal 3 - To keep the fat off next season!!! (June - September).
I thought it would be good to show you all my progress so far...
Current Stats
* Height - 5ft 2in
* Weight - 61.6kg
* Body Fat - 24.5%
When I first started measuring my weight on 15 September 2008 my weight was 67kg and god knows how much body fat.
On 23 November 2008 I was 64.7kg and 30% body fat.
So I have made some great progress already!!!
Now the pictures....
THE FAT PICTURE - THE ONE THAT MADE ME REALISE IT HAD TO CHANGE

Now my two montages which show the difference between November 2008 (when I started taking photos) and today. Really pleased!!!

And this is now me full body:

I look forward to meeting you all, and to taking my training and knowledge further!!!!
I will be posting my training log separately....
