Getting In More Red Meat

You've no doubt seen the Jamie Oliver Meat Ball recipe on TV but I think it's a winner.

Plan to have this instead of chicken a good few times a week through the day but replace spag with rice and add in some fresh chilli for a more Spanish Tapas feel. I've got some Aberdeen Angus mince on offer from M&S but I'll prob get my butcher to mince up some steak in future.

been doing something like that for ages now. I add in Tumeric when the beef is cooking. Also, add in any greens or other veg once the chopped tomatoes are in; like kale, broccoli, green beans etc

I also add in dessicated coconut. Or gently fry it up in a pan of coconut oil and add to rice for a great coconut rice :D

Eating this for Lunch today and 500g of mince is way easier to eat than 500g chicken.

Could easily over eat on this and go through a kilo.

Minced meat is a lot easier to eat the meat in its whole form. I was mincing my chicken breasts at one point!

I was thinking of this as well.

I used to have chicken mince in wholemeal pitta's with a little red onion, sliced tomato and peanut butter as a post workout meal but I can't buy minced chicken anymore.

However my butcher assures more that his Butcher Boy 1000 Mincer is up to the job if I ever need anything done.

Also he only charges £7 per kilo or chicken and thats not buying in bulk.

You can make pseudo minced chicken yourself just by chopping up the meat.

I used to make some awesome little balls with chilli, spring onion, ginger. Just chop it all up, shape into small balls and steam them for 20 minutes or so. Really easy to get through a lot of meat that way :)

Right, I've been eating pretty much purely red meat as my meat source over the last 2 weeks, close to 1kg daily and while I think Ilook better for it I'm now just starting to notice some digestion issues in the form of very slight stomach ache around 90mins after eating and feeling a touch bloated which extra wind. Could be unrelated but I think I may need to break it up a little some white meat every so often.

I think also it could be related to how much I consume in one sitting as I've noticed this only after eating too much in one go. With chicken I seem to be able to get away with eating lots in one go.

yeah a purely red meat will likely do that. Best to mix animal protein. Fish too; shellfish also.

That's an odd post to read. Alex I've become accustomed to you functioning like a machine, regardless if it's diet, training ...whatever.

..........and then I read the above  . But shit man, that's alot of cow you're eating each day. Nothing you don't already know, but perhaps some probiotics (healthspan's work well, I can't function without them....bowel disease and all), betain hcl...and some papain etc?

Do you ever get meat sweats?

Yeah, i can get the sweats.

I think it's the short time span in which I'm eating at times over the actual quantity in it's own right. I was pretty hungry so knocking back 400g mince and 1/2 cup of rice in about 20 mins was only going to have one reaction.
