In terms of developing an allergic reaction to it? Or cholesterol?

Yes it's fine Galt. All this eggs = bad crap is just that. Crap. Know someone who is currently eating 8 for breakfast every day and since he started on that has become an insufferable cheery energy fueled git.

You can develop allergies if you over do things though just like anything in life, variation is the key. Still I get through over a dozen eggs a week and I'm fine - fart a lot though

Yeah. I have a habit of living things to the extremes yet have never developed allergies. Must be mother natures way of protecting her own I guess.

Actually scrap that, I'm due some good after the ups and downs I've had re health scares and all.

Scott, seriously, don't freak out over it. I'd be more worried about the amount of squash you drink than egg intake.

Thanks people
I was a little concerned about the amount of cholesterol and all that malarky. Sqaush is just about keeping me sane GB i do have 4 l of water with nothing added, well i add some lemon juice. It probably works out to 4l of water to 1 l of squash per day. Which is sugar free so no to bad really

4 eggs raw for brekkie has been a staple of mty diet for a long time now...with spell off it. I often go for another 4 pre workout

The cholesterol in eggs isnt supposed to effect the blood levels of cholesterol

I'd be more concerned about potential inflammation caused by over consumption of arachidonic acid

Balance with omega 3...quality of eggs may be a concern. Cook them, not raw. (Rab) I'm sure you've heard about the biotin malarky, plus they taste way better cooked! :!:

I ate 8 eggs the other day and didn't feel like eggs for a few days!

I though the boitin thing was only an issue when chucking out the yolk and only consuming the white (or mostly the white?)

Most multivits/minerals have a biotin supplement in them. WOuld this help offset it?

Raw eggs taste fine imo. just like a good old mouthfull of the white stuff....so im told :)

I eat two-three eggs most days (not everyday) for breakfast plus additional eggs sometimes as part of other meals.

I think the four potential issues with eggs that people worry about; inflammation, cholesterol, allergy and vitamin A build up & toxicity are all extrememly unlikely to be problematic at this intake;

Inflammation Only likely to be problematic if linoleic acid or gamma-linoleic acid levels are very high (high intake from other food sources) and omega 3's are low....not a worry if eating a blanced diet & supplementing with fish oils. Omega 3 enriched eggs may be a good choice if worried about this.

LDL cholesterol Worrying about this is misplaced because eating LDL has actually very little to with it actually getting into your bloodstream... dietary cholesterols are all converted quickly after digestion and plasma cholesterols are more the result of hormone balance than dietary cholesterol.

Allergy Allergy can possibly occur over a long period of time but i think only if very large numbers of eggs are eaten daily for years and years...

Vitamin A buildup & toxicity An average large egg contains around 950 IU of vitamin A (around 20% of the RDA)... but studies have shown although vit A builds up in the system and can cause toxicity, this normally only happens at doses above 500,000 IU of vitamin A or even 1,000,000 IU of vitamin A... and then it still takes six months to a year to develop problems! Do the maths, thats a lot of eggs!

I eat 4-6 eggs every day. Hasn't killed me yet.

Did get my blood cholesterol done about 4 months ago, I'll get it done again in a few months and see if a high fat diet's made any difference.
