EAAs

Postby ollie on Thu Jul 31, 2008 10:23 am

I've just started using EAAs and have a couple of queries (I've searched but not found definitive answers).

1 - I'm using in conjunction with BCAAs. At the moment I'm using 10-15g BCAAs during my workout, and 10g EAAs PWO. Is this a good protocol? I don't really want to use any more than this.

2 - The taste is horrific! I necked it earlier without thinking and nearly spat my mouthful across the changing rooms...how can I mask it? I used to be fine with BCAAs, but even they're starting to get to me now...must be getting soft in my old age.

I tried everything to mask EAA ollie, eventually i thought sod it and just shoved in in dry.. and didnt taste a thing, quick mouth of orange juice and its gone with no aftertaste.

It seems to taste bad when you try and pre mix it then its swooshing around your mouth.

Interesting - I might just do something similar then :)

I don't think the flavour was helped by the mix:

10g EAA
6g OAKG
30g WMS (I appreciate the other ingredients will slow absorption, but I just like the lack of bloating)
5g creapure

Probably the foulest thing I've ever drank in any quantity. CEE is easy next to that!

Agree with Criag. I end up using squash or fruit juice to hide the taste but I got used to them in plain water after a few days.

ice cubes defo help.

Also, a pre-workout concoction I've used a couple of times since back is as follows:
- organic coffee & teaspoon of extra thick double cream
- 6g EAAs
- 13g BCAAs
- 2g ALCAR
- 20g WPC

I've found that if you put the WPC in last on top of the already mixed stuff, it clings to the BCAAs & EAAs to help mixture. It also seems to hide the EAAs taste!
Also, I take 1g of green tea extract.

Only done this 4 times so far (sometimes with and sometimes without the BCAAs).
