Dipping width

Postby Marks1972 on Wed Apr 02, 2008 2:08 pm

The dipping machine that ive started using has 3 width settings.

Am i right in thinking to hit my triceps i need to have my arms tight to my sides and be as upright as possible and for hitting chest wider grip and leaning forward?

I believe you've hit the nail on the head sir ;)

Flaring elbows also seems to involve the chest more.

bringing in the triceps tight to the body helps isolate them more but puts more stress on the elbow/tendons i find.

For Triceps I try to lean back a little on my elbows and kick my legs forward a touch. If you tuck your legs back you'll find it'll force you to start leaning forward.
