Dinner meal help!

Postby Wardie on Wed Apr 09, 2008 2:39 pm

If I eat any more wholemeal sandwiches I am likely to kill myself.

Looking for some suggestions for my dinner time meal at work. I have some basic requirements....

Quick and easy to make
Reheatable in the microwave
Healthy enough for every day eating

I've had stir fry a few times which is pretty decent, but i'm unsure how healthy the sauces and stir fry mixes that you use are, and I use Egg Noodles in a stir fry which i'm not too sure about either.

Stir fry is pretty ideal for me though as it's an easy (and tasty way) to get more veg in there.

I don't eat eggs.

Cheers guys :D

make the stir frys without the sause packets.

2 chicken breasts, a red onion, spring onion carrot, chilli pure, garlic pure tomatoe pure, cayenne pepper, plenty olive oil...whatever. :).

cook a batch of sweet potatoes and keep them in the fridge. they will keep for 3-5 days (ive only left them as long as 4 myself though). that and a meat/poultry portion and a bit of veg leftovers from the night befores dinner isnt bad going

Don't do tomatoes, I don't like sweet potatoe.

How bad really is a stir fry using the sauce shizzle? I mean i'll still be getting a fair bit of veg and pleanty of chicken/turkey/whatever in with it.

Chicken Fajita with rice - grill the chicken, cook the rice, bung chicken in with asda fajita sauce and simmer 20 mins. Then layer over the rice, keep in the fridge. Take what you need each time. Easy. Personally I'm not sure what's in the sauce - tomatoes, chillis- it's organic and i's only one meal a day I don't count calories precisely for. It's not too sweet - very nice.

Girlfriend made me a stir fry for tomorrow :)

Yeah I am a very fussy eater. I only started eating veg not even a year ago because of her. I only ever ate it in soup before then, I didn't eat anything green at all.

My diet has improved so much since discovering this hobby.

Not read the rest of this thread, but you could try mince steak. I buy the frozen stuff, cooks quick and you can put either dolmio with some half fat cheese or maybe some chilli sauce with a couple nachos. You could use it to make your own lean bugers, with some sweet pot wedges flavoured with cajun :) so many things. Tuna patties are doable as well
